A Christmas With Some Sparkle
There are a few times a year when you can let your creative flag fly, and Christmas is one of them! You might feel like the more significant and the more colourful, the better, or you may be thinking about just how beautiful the modern designer trees look.
Either way, here are some fun Christmas decoration ideas that can bring a little extra sparkle.
Chalkboard
This is an idea for the dedication because it’s going to last the whole of December! Each day add a different festive note to add a little bit of magic on the way to December 25th.
If that seems like a bit too much work, then add a fun chalkboard sign welcoming Santa or a few words to bring in the season.
You can add this into your daily festive to-do list with Elf on the Shelf and Shrumann Reindeer Feeder (of course, Shrumann’s real work isn’t until Christmas Eve).
Fruity Scent
Add some old-fashioned and fruit scent into the mix with some dried fruit garlands on the tree.
You’ll need to make the garland in advance since the fruit will take a little while to dry out – or you might choose to purchase some bags of dried fruit to make it easier.
Use some twine to loop the dried fruit together and space them out carefully along the string.
To make your own, you’ll likely need a dehydrator, but you can dry fruit in the oven too.
Bright and Bold
Why not buy a white Christmas tree this year? And treat it like a blank canvas for lots of bold colours. White Christmas trees are beautiful and add to the frosty festiveness.
You can also choose to go for a modern monochrome tree, using blacks, whites, silvers and grey with a white Christmas tree.
A more traditional green or real tree is still beautiful and can add that traditional festive look. Shiny golds, reds and greens are always a classic.
Don’t be afraid to add in non-traditional colours and make Christmas truly yours.
DIY Advent Calendar
Advent calendars cause a lot of waste, but you can make it extra special (and reuse the boxes next year).
You can buy beautiful wooden drawer options that are beautiful, reusable and have a good amount of storage in them.
Fill the drawer with little treats like chocolates, small gifts, and other fun stuff.
A DIY calendar might take a little bit of time, but overall they have a more significant and more fun impact than the regular small chocolate each morning.
Create a Cocoa Bar
As the cold mornings and evenings arrive, what could be better than a hot chocolate station. Special hot chocolate mugs, sachets of the families most love cocoa and miniature marshmallows for the perfect topping.
One of the most delicious ways to make coco is to use the dissolvable chocolate on wooden sticks. Stirring them into warm milk makes it feel like an exceptional treat.
Christmas can be the cosiest time of the year, but it is important to remember it’s not about what’s under the tree- but who is around it with you!
