Alternative Easter Gift Ideas for Kids who have enough chocolate!

Easter is fast approaching, and for us parents, so is the prospect of spending another half-term break madly trying to find affordable days out and fun ways to entertain the kids. We all absolutely love ripping open a chocolate egg on Easter weekend (the only time we can allow chocolate for breakfast guilt-free), but the amount of chocolate the kids receive can be more than a little overwhelming.
Whilst I always allow the girls to have a reasonable haul of chocolate at Easter, I always try to find alternative Easter gifts or non-chocolate-eater gifts, ideally gifts that the whole family can enjoy together.
If you are looking to send alternative Easter gifts this year, you simply can’t go wrong with a bunny, chick, or egg theme! In addition, why not look out for experience-based gifts that you can share together while offering entertainment and fun?
Here’s our round-up of some of the best alternative Easter gifts for 2026.
To dress for the occasion
If you love the kids to dress up for a special meal at Easter, check out Rachel Riley. They have a stunning range of party and occasion dresses in beautiful spring colours. We absolutely adore this Garden Button-Front Dress, with a watercolor floral print, Peter Pan collar, and bright pink buttons. An outfit that’ll be loved all throughout Spring and beyond.

No outfit would be complete without a bag, and this adorable flower bunny bag from Monsoon is sure to be a hit with little ones. A glittery bunny-shaped bag with fabric flowers on the ears, we love the chain strap and magnetic button fastening that makes your child feel super independent and grown up,

For the crafty kids
Hoping to do some Easter crafts over the holidays?
Whether they’re decorating eggs, rock painting or creating their own mugs: these Ohuhu Acrylic Paint Markers are worth their weight in gold. Each pack comes with 6=36 smooth and vibrant colours housed in their own durable carry case. Kids will love pressing down the nibs to gently encourage the flow before bringing their imagination to life.

My girls are huge fans of Italian stationery brand Legami, and Ryman has a huge range of their character erasable pens to choose from this season.
Each pen has an animal or character on the top – from bunnies and ladybirds to x and y. The best part? As well as free-flowing ink – flip to the rubber on the top and you can erase any mistakes – even in pen! Perfect for homework and school projects.

For some much-needed escapism
For gifts that will last far beyond Easter itself, you can’t go wrong with new books! For babies and toddlers, we love Easter Bunny’s Wobbly Bottom – a study board book with interactive elements to move the bunny’s ears, arms and well… their bottom.

If you love picture books, If You’re Hoppy and you know it is a fun lift the flap book with beautiful illustrations. KIds will love singing along to the text. Jenny Peckles Lays Eggs with Spekles is a must have for fans of Oi Frog, with hillarious rhyming text and chicken themed characters throughout.

For the Easter egg hunts
Planning an Easter egg hunt?
No hunt would be complete without an Easter basket, but Monsoon have taken their baskets to the next level with the Flopsy Bunny Basket. We love the bunny face, floral-printed floppy ears and pom-pom tail! Once Easter has passed, this basket can also be used for storing small toys or hair accessories.

For screen free fun
We’re big fans of screen-free fun in this house, and whilst there is of course a place for iPads, tablets and TV, we love the sense of calm and relaxation that can be achieved by listening to fun audio devices instead such as the Tonies Toniebox and Yoto Player.
This Easter, Yoto have some great content that is ideal for Spring, helping entertain your little ones and help them get some well deserved rest over the holidays.
We love their range of Easter and Spring themed Yoto Cards. From the beloved Peter Rabbit and Friends, to Enid Blyton Springtime stories

The Family Board Game Rally
Board games (or bored games as my daughter likes to call them!) are a great way to entertain the kids during the Easter holidays, so games with a bunny theme make an ideal Easter gift. As a family, we are HUGE fans of Learning Resources, and the Learning Resources Hoppy Floppy’s Happy Hunt Game definitely didn’t disappoint!
The aim of the game is to help hoppy to collect the carrots. Spin the spinner and use the rabbit squeezer to collect the correct coloured carrot from the box. Your aim is to be the first player to collect four carrots – one of each colour. Sounds easy right? But watch out, if another player lands on the steal rabbit, they can take a carrot from your basket and if you drop your basket, you must return all the contents and start again! A fun game the whole family can play together. Super simple instructions, and encourages taking in turns and fine motor skills in little ones. Suitable for 2 – 4 players.
You can see loads of our other favourite board games for the whole family here.

We’re huge fans of Orchard Toys (having played with their games consistently over the last 11 years!). Entertaining, educational and fun, they are games that can be enjoyed time and time again. This April, they have two new arrivals that are just perfect for Easter.
First up is Hot Cross Bunnies, with two unique ways to play – snap or matching pairs. WIth adorable illustrations of lots of grumpy bunnies, it’s sure to raise some laughter and friendly competition between siblings and friends. An absolute bargain at just £4, it makes a great choice for kids aged 3-6 years.

Orchard Toys also have a new jigsaw range this Easter, featuring none other than Beatrix Potter’s Peter Rabbit. The World of Peter Rabbit JIgsaw Puzzle is one to cherish. With sturdy, wipe-clean pieces made from recycled cardboard, this 50-piece puzzle is beautifully illustrated. We love the border around the edge, helping children learn more about some of the characters too. A great activity for children aged four years and above.

For sustainable play
Suitable for children aged 3 years plus, this Wooden Stacing Flower Garden set from JoJo makes the perfect gift for Spring. Stashing away in the box for storage, the sliding lid reveals a selection of flowers, leaves, stems and plant pots that slot into the lid, as well as gardening tools to help bring their imagination to life.
Made from high qualty MDF, Lotus Wood, Beech Wood and Plywood, I love how kids can write their name on the chalkboard to personalise their garden.

For baby’s first Easter
Who says littlest ones should miss out at Easter?
This baby gift set from Avery Row makes a thoughtful and practical gift for Easter – one that they can, quite literally, hold onto for years to come. Made from super soft organic cotton, the Swaddle & Cuddle New Baby Gift Set comes beautifully gift boxed and ready to gift.Â

However you choose to celebrate this Easter, I hope you have a wonderful time with your family. We hope you enjoyed this post of alternative Easter gifts!
Enjoy
