Do you have Britain’s Most Beautiful Garden?
#AD This is a collaborative post
This post is an entry to Just Landlords’ “Britain’s Most Beautiful Garden” competition
If someone asked me to describe the favourite part of my home, it wouldn’t take me long to answer. Our garden would be top of the list every single time, but it hasn’t always been that way. When we first moved into our home, the garden was an absolute bomb site, there was rubble everywhere, everything was overgrown, the shed was old and falling down, and it was most definitely not a safe place to raise a family. We knew straight away that we would have to invest some significant time and effort into our garden to make it the family friendly space we wanted to create. It was a huge project, but having reaped the benefits now for the last few years, I can honestly say that all our hard work has most definitely paid off.
Why do you love your garden?
As you can see from the garden project photos above, our garden has been through quite the transformation! It is now a very family friendly environment where we are able to enjoy time together playing, help the girls burn of excess energy and blow the cobwebs away. It’s become the perfect base for a barbeque or family gathering, and many happy memories have been made here.
From a self care point of view, if I am ever having a bad day or want a bit of time to relax, the garden has become my safe haven – the place where I can go and simply sit and enjoy the peace and quiet!
What’s your favourite garden feature and why?
Our garden has become a bit of a children’s paradise, with pretty much everything the girls could want to keep them entertained. From the chalk board on the shed, to the play area with soft bark landing to prevent bumps and grazes, to the little fairy garden at the base of the tree that the girls go and chat to regularly, I love how much the girls feel comfortable and at home in our outside space. I can let them play and explore without having to worry about them getting into too much mischief!
Why do you think your garden deserves the title “Britain’s Most Beautiful Garden”?
I’d love my garden to be considered for Most Beautiful Garden – it may not be the most flower filled or the most perfectly pruned outdoor space, however when it comes to family friendly playtime, the girls simply couldn’t ask for anything more. I love the fact that my girls will grow up here and continue making happy memories together, planting seeds, growing vegetables and helping look after the space we worked so hard to create.
