Family Organisation with UK.Photo.Gifts

In a few short months life is going to get a bit hectic.

Things are going to change from a semi relaxed stay at home Mum on maternity leave to being a working Mum and part time blogger, with one child in nursery and the other in school. As if that wasn’t enough, I am starting a brand new job, and my “to do” list already seems to be slightly overwhelming.

With forms to complete and deadlines to meet, it can be so easy to lose track of who is doing what! I wanted to think of a fun and creative way to visually see the things I neeed to remember so decided to create my own photo family organiser with Uk Photo Gifts – a one stop shop for a wide range of unique photo gifts including mugs, magnets and phone cases.

One of the first places we look every morning is the fridge – inevitably before our eyes have even opened properly we are getting out the milk for a morning coffee or a bowl of cereal.

Using the photo magnets from UK.Photo.Gifts I created my very own Family Photo Magnet Organiser as follows:

Here I can pop reminders by date against each family member for the things that are going on that month – including important events, appointments and specific things we might need. I can use the spare magnets to even hold a rushed note to my other half if we have days where we pass like ships in the night.

Not only will this help me be more organised, but I also get to have a quick look at some of my favourite photos of the girls – and after a night like night when I want to throttle them for tag teaming until 2am, it will hopefully help me remember just how adorable they can be!

The magnets are super easy to order – simply uploading your photos on to the template grid. They come in a pack of 9 with prices starting at £13.90, and are made from flexible premium magnet paper. There are only four images needed for the Family Photo Magnet Organiser, meaning that I also I have 5 spare to decorate the fridge with other bits and pieces such as a couple of drawings or Erin’s Star of the Week certificate.

Whilst a simple idea, I am hoping that making my organised chaos a little more fun will help reduce the pressure in the mornings!

I asked my fellow bloggers for some more family organisation tips – and here’s what they came up with!

Mum Diaries – “Prepare uniform and bags the night before just so we know where everything is. Also keep school shoes by the front door as we have more often than not gone hunting for shoes in the morning”.

Coffee Cake Kids – “I take photos of letters and invitations and bits of paper with important dates or info on, so if I lost it or misplaced diary, I’ve got a photo of it on my phone, then delete it once it’s passed.”

Exeter Baby Activities  uses a similar idea to organise her family – “Our family organiser calendar is such a lifesaver, it keeps track of all our work commitments (not easy when we both have a couple of trips out of the city each week) plus the children’s swimming, drama, riding etc. I’ve hung our calendar on a cork board so I can pin all the useful bits of paper right next to it. That way, all the  permission slips, kit lists, doctor’s letters etc are kept safe and handy for when we need them.”

If you have a bigger family – Hexmum Blog also had a great tip – different colour coat hangers for each child’s uniform! With all those polo shirts of different sizes, it can be SO easy to get them mixed up. By using different coloured coat hangers, anyone in theory could go to the wardrobe and pull out the right uniform for each child! I will be using this one when the girls are older!
