Father’s Day Gift Guide 2022

Father’s Day Gift Guide 2022
Ad – features items gifted for review
Father’s Day is on June 19th and is fast approaching. I have to say, I really love celebrating Father’s Day, both with my own Dad and Mike who is a fantastic Dad to the girls. Both Neve and Erin absolutely dote on Mike, and whenever they feel upset or poorly, or quite simply need a hero, they always gravitate straight towards him. It’s lovely to see how their relationships have formed as the girls have got older; and how he can quickly switch from carnage Dad (think playfights, tig and tickling) to superhero dad (carrying tired legs, nursing a grazed knee, and stopping tears) in a matter of minutes.
When it comes to finding the perfect gift for Father’s Day, I appreciate that every Dad is different, but hopefully, I’ve covered all bases with this Father’s Day gift guide full of suggestions for every kind of Dad!

For the Dad who fancies a tipple

If like mine, your Dad is partial to a glass of red, why not treat them to a wine with a difference this Father’s Day?
The team at Virgin Wines have released this limited edition bottle of Shiraz just in time for Father’s Day, carefully crafted by a small independent team of talented and passionate winemakers in McLaren Vale, Australia.
The aptly named Dad’s Black Pig is super smooth and features open and intense fruit notes with a rich, robust texture. Even better, it has been packaged up in a matching bespoke tube and can be delivered straight to dad’s door with free delivery and a personalised message.
Check out the full range at Virgin Wines.

For the organised Dad

If your Dad is the list writer, the planner and the record keeper, then why not treat him to a brand new pen from Boutique Gifts? I always think stationery makes wonderful gifts, particularly high-quality pens, which whilst you wouldn’t normally justify treating yourself to, make an amazing gift.
This classic Parker Jotter Ball pen with clip is ideal for attaching to a shirt pocket and has a patented QuinkFlow ballpoint ink refill included which writes freely and with ease.
Not only does the Parker Jotter Ball come beautifully gift-boxed, but at Boutique Gifts you can even choose a font and ink colour and add an engraving of your choice – the personalised element of your gift is then bought to life in their Nottingham workshop.

For the Dad who loves a brew

If your Dad loves nothing more than a morning brew to start his day, then this ‘I am your father’ mug from Menkind is the ideal mug choice for Dads everywhere! Coming gift boxed, this mug and keyring set also includes a flexible fabric keyring that can be attached to his set of keys. Just add water to see it transform from ‘Big Bad Dad’ to ‘I Am Your Father’ –  a great gift for Star Wars fans!

For the Dad with a sweet tooth

If your Dad has a sweet tooth, these giant Haribo Megastars boxes are packed to the brim with all of your Haribio favourites including Starmix, Supermix, Tangfastics and my personal favourite, the Giant Strawbs!

Even better, with 4 bags of 200g each, there’s plenty for the whole family to share.

For a Dad who’s the king of the BBQ

Traeger Grills are the inventors of the wood pellet grill and they have a wide range of gifting options which are ideal for Father’s Day, including everything from grilling accessories and rubs and sauces, to wood pellets perfect for cooking on.
These durable stainless steel Traeger BBQ Grilling Tongs mean turning burgers and sausages is an absolute breeze! Featuring serrated edges for reliable grip, Traeger BBQ Tongs lets your Dad flip, rotate, and move food on the bbq with confidence. They come with a strong teak wooden handle which looks great, are 16.5 inches long to keep your Dad’s hands safely away from the heat and have a locking mechanism to keep the tongs closed when not in use.

If you want to add something a little special to your burgers, steaks, and briskets, these Traeger Rubs come with a great combination of spices to perfectly compliment your food and come packaged in stylish aluminium tins. The Traeger rubs are just £9.99 each at Traeger Grills.

If your Dad loves to experiment on the bbq and wants to try some new flavours, the expertly curated BBQ Heroes Gift box is a great match.

Packed full of flavoursome sauces, including hot + sour, from Dominique Woolf (winner of Jamie Oliver’s Cookbook Challenge) and the Hamper Company’s favourite BBQ sauce from Sauce Shop, they’ve also included drinks and snacks for your Dad to keep his energy levels up whilst he mans the bbq, including sea salt & malt vinegar crisps and original biltong too.

All washed down with three bottles of Empress beer, including two bottles of Pale Ale and a British IPA, not bad for an afternoon’s work! 😉

For the Dad who loves his pizza

There’s a bit of a foodie theme here, but in the case of my loved ones at least, the way to a man’s heart really is through his stomach!

If you’re lucky enough to have a pizza oven at home, or enjoy settling down for a Friday night takeaway, the KitchenCraft World of Flavours Italian Pizza Serving Set can make serving and sharing pizza with friends and family a doddle.

This Italian style share and slice knife and board set comes with a natural bamboo paddle board large enough to house even the most substantial of pizzas, as well as a stainless steel rocker knife that can easily glide through layers of gooey cheese and crispy bases to serve up perfect pizza slices for the whole family.
Even more, once the pizzas all gone, it also makes a great board to serve bread, cheese, anitpasti or dessert! Nom!

Whether your Dad is rocking a thick full beard, or a close shave, it’s important he looks after his skin.

To read with the kids

As a lovely treat for Daddy this Father’s Day, why not snuggle up with a book before bed? Some of our favourite recent releases include  Daddy Do My Hair.

It’s Sunday evening and dinner is over.
Beth is excited and heads to the sofa.
Daddy is there with a smile and a chair.
“Daddy,” she asks, “will you please do my hair?”

We also love If My Dad were the Tooth Fairy, a laugh out loud rhyming tale about when Dad quits his boring job to take on the best role ever (which just happens to involve wings and sparkly tights)

For Cards and Wrap

Finally, don’t forget the cards and gift wrap to make your Dad’s day extra special. When it comes to Father’s Day cards (and even cards for Grandads too!) there is a huge range to choose from at Danilo – some of our favourites are pictured below. They even offer personalised options too, for that extra personal touch.
With lots of branded and licensed cards, giftwrap and gift bags to choose from, you’re sure to find a theme that works perfectly for your Dad. The Top Gun one was right up my Dad’s street – especially with Maverick having recently been released.
Which one is your fave?
