My favourite Jewellery styles from Day to Night

*This is a collaborative post

When it comes to my jewellery collection, it’s fair to say it’s been on quite a journey! What started back in the 90’s as bold chunky necklaces, bright colours and large striking designs has matured somewhat in recent years. Now I have quite an eclectic mixture of necklaces, bracelets, earrings and rings to suit every occasion, taking me from those more formal days in the office through to dinner out with friends, special occasions, date nights and birthdays.

Here are some of my favourite jewellery styles that can take me through from day to night.

Subtle and Simple

Whether I am in the office or working from home, my day job requires quite a professional attire. Whilst I clearly can’t go overboard with noisy bangles that jingle whilst I type, it doesn’t mean I have to sacrifice on style!

For work, I love to wear stud earrings, smaller pieces and delicate, intricate designs, that are smart yet still bring a touch of personality to my overall look. Some high quality stone studs also add a touch of glamour to an otherwise plain formal outfit, whilst on a practical level, don’t restrict taking important phone call or wearing headphones.

Large statement pieces

Winter fashion can be boring, but a large statement piece of jewellery can make all the difference, adding texture, shape and colour to your outfits. Whether its a large long necklace, bold earrings or chunky bright bangles, you can very quickly turn a plain chunky polo neck into a more striking look with a good quality piece of jewellery, or slip one over a plain black dress to switch from office chic to evening attire.

Delicate and pretty

I am a big fan of florals and over the years have amassed quite the collection of feminine floral print dresses and tops. I love to pair these dresses with delicate and pretty necklaces, bracelets and chains – traditionally when I think of having nice jewellery these are the first kind of pieces that come to mind!

Whilst relatively subtle, these pieces such as the Daisy London earrings and necklace set below, are the ones I always get complimented on! They really help subtly express my individuality.

Charm bracelets and fantasy

I have always loved the premise of a charm bracelet and still have one of my Mums from when she was young. There is something truly special about adding individual charms that stir up memories, feelings and motivations.

I love collecting charms, often treating myself to a new one every time I have a milestone that I want to remember. I love the idea of passing these down to my daughters when they are older so they can continue to add charms of their own.

Stacked Rings

Stacked rings are a unique way to accent your hands and show off all of your favourite rings at once – because lets face it, when you have a few that you like, one ring is never enough!

I really love mixing and matching my favourite shapes, styles, materials and colours to create a look that is  a little more unique – adding a mix of gold and silver as well as smaller and larger pieces to really draw the eye.

For a strong statement on a night out you can stack rings on multiple fingers, or just on your ring finger for a more elegant look.

Bring out the bling

On those special occasions, Christmas parties, weddings and 40th birthday parties (of which we seem to be going to a LOT lately), I occasionally love to bring out the bling. From large sparkly necklaces to my favourite diamond earrings, these are pieces that are crying out to be seen and can totally transform a look.
