Have you heard of Ricky Zoom yet? If not, then chances are you soon will! New from Entertainment One, Ricky Zoom is a brand new TV show for preschool age children available to watch every Saturday and Sunday on Nick Jr!
Set in the town of Wheelford, Ricky Zoom follows the experiences of the Bike Buddles – a group of four main characters, – DJ, Scootio , Loop and Ricky Zoom who are a group of friends finding their way on their own two wheels. Always looking for adventure and always having fun, they are always there to help save the day when there is trouble on the horizon.
Ricky Zoom has a VERY catchy theme tune, and comes with some important life lessons, reinforcing the message that kindness, respect and friendship are the things that matter most in life. Ricky Zoom also shares positive messages about being independent and learning how to stand on your own two feet (or wheels in the Bike Buddies’ case). Sometimes learning new things means you cam make mistakes, and Ricky Zoom helps little ones learn that this is OK! It’s how you learn from them that counts!
We’ve been watching a number of the episodes on Nick Jr with the girls and Neve in particular is absolutely hooked. Each of the four main characters has their own unique traits and talents and it’s great to see a female character with some STEM talents for a change!
Ricky is Erin’s favourite – a red rescue bike who loves to go fast. The confident leader of the pack, he is always encouraging the Bike Buddies to try new stunts and use his cool rescue resources such as his visor and grappling hook – He still however has a lot to learn.
Neve’s favourite is Scootio and I have to admit that I have a soft spot for her too! The lead girl bike – Scotio is bright ,brainy and never afraid to speak her mind. A refreshing change, Scootio is also a Gadget Guru, using her ZoomCam and robotic Scootbops to find solutions to puzzles and dilemmas.
Now we’ve been introduced to Ricky Zoom I have a feeling that the Bike Buddies will be here to stay.
