PAJ Power Finder 4G Review Find & Protect

This is a collaborative post

Over the last few years we have become increasingly concerned about car crime. Since we moved to our house almost 10 years ago, the crime rates in our area have increased dramatically, especially since covid. With my partner having a desirable company car, it’s always in the back of our mind that the car could be taken or targeted by criminals.

If you’re lucky enough to have invested in an expensive car such as a BMW, Audi or Range Rover, a GPS tracking device can be a sensible investment. Not only can this allow you to instantly track your car’s location in the event of it being stolen, but can also lower insurance premiums in some cases.

Whilst you can have trackers installed under the bonnet of your car,

Who are PAJ?

PAJ GPS are one of the leading European brand in GPS tracker devices that offer easy-to-use and affordable tracker devices for cars, trucks, motorbikes and machinery. All of your devices can be monitored using a single finder portal on your computer or mobile phone.

What is the PAJ Power Finder 4G GPS?

This Power Finder is a portable, 10,000 mAh battery-powered tracking device suitable for cars, motorbikes or caravans. The battery life lasts for around 40-90 days from a single charge (90 in standby mode and 40 days with active tracking of up to 1 hour per day. The battery life is visible within the PAJ app and is quick and easy to recharge via USB.

The splash proof device comes with an M2M SIM card pre-inserted in a robust unit with magnetic adhesive tabs and a charging cable.

What is the PAJ App?

To get started with the PAJ Power Finder 4G GPS tracker, you first need to download the app (either iOS or android play store depending on your device). The app is free to download. You then need to set up an account and choose your subscription.

How much does PAJ Tracker cost to run?

The PAJ Power Finder requires a subscription in order to actively track your location. There are a choice of subscription options which work out better value the longer you sign up for. The first is £89.99 every 2 years, £54.99 yearly or the cheapest short term option of £5.99 per month.

How easy is the PAJ Power Finder to set up?

Before the first use you need to fully charge the Power Finder which takes around 8 hours.

You will need to key in your device ID, which can be found on the back of the Finder and can be scanned via a QR Code to activate it. It’s then ready to be installed in your car or vehicle as required.

What can the PAJ Power Finder be used for?

Set up notifications to my app or email:

  • Low battery
  • Vibration alert (to notify in the event of an accident or collision)
  • Leaving or entering a certain area
  • Real time location settings
  • Exceeding speed limits

Where did we put the PAJ Power Finder?

We chose to put the PAJ Power Finder in the boot of our car, in a discreet location that hopefully wouldn’t be too obvious if someone was to open it up. The Power Finder comes with a magnetic base that can be attached using sticky pads, and then the main unit can easily be removed to charge up. Due to the need to occasionally remove, I would recommend putting it somewhere that is still relatively accessible whilst hidden from general view.

How easy is it to use?

Once fitted in your car, the PAJ Power Finder tracker is incredibly simple to use. Using the app I can check the location at any time, and even set up specific push alerts (or turn them off) depending on my preferences. The speed and location alerts could be great for anyone who has just given their car to a new driver, checking that they are driving it appropriately whilst receiving peace of mind that they are treating the vehicle with the appropriate level of care and precaution.

You can even set different sound alerts for different behaviours – this way you will instantly recognise when the car ignition is started or if the vehicle has had a shock and can respond instantly as well as receive a notification on the app.

With the option to track distance travelled and routes, it could also prove useful for tracking mileage for your tax return.

Overall verdict

The PAJ Power Finder is very straight forward to fit and use. Whilst the unit itself is fairly large, it’s quite easy to install this in a non obvious location inside your car. The app is very intuitive and simple to navigate and I love the fact it can be used for a variety of purposes – even actions as simple as remembering where you left your car in a multi story car park. It’s completely fool proof and I’m sure the mechanic fitted ones are less at risk of being removed, however as a budget friendly tracker for peace of mind, it certainly ticks a lot of boxes!

Where can I buy the PAJ Power Finder?

The PAJ Power Finder retails at £ and is available to buy at Amazon now.
