REVIEW – My First Christmas Grobag Giftset

REVIEW – My First Christmas Grobag GiftsetScore 90%Score 90%

I love nothing more than the countdown to Christmas. I recently shared some of our Christmas Traditions which we have started as a family, including Christmas Eve boxes for the children. This is Neve’s first Christmas and as she will only be 4 months old, she obviously won’t totally understand it, but I want her to be able to look back when she is older and see that Father Christmas included her from the very beginning! 🙂

When we heard about the Gro Company’s My First Christmas Gift Box – we decided that this was simply perfect and great value for money!

The Product

The Gro Company’s First Christmas Gift Boxes are perfect presents for a new baby! 🙂 There are three different designs available, ranging from £18 (for a set with Gro Bib, Gro Stocking and Gro Comforter) to £49 for the First Christmas Swaddling Gift Box, which includes the above items with a Gro Swaddle and Gro Snug in addition. The final set (The My First Christmas Grobag Gift Box) is £39 and includes includes:

  • 1 x Reindeer Family Grobag 0-6m 2.5 Tog
  • 1 x Christmas Twinkle Gro-suit 3-6m
  • 1 x Christmas Twinkle Gro Bib (100% super-soft jersey cotton, Measures 25cm high x 40cm wide, Adjustable with popper fastening, Machine washable at 40c)
  • 1 x Christmas Reindeer Comforter (Suitable from birth, Machine Washable, Super soft polyester velour, Finger hole for using as an interactive puppet)
  • 1 x Christmas Reindeer Gro Stocking (Soft velour, trimmed with fur, Measures 40cm high x 25cm wide)

The products come all beautifully presented in a large gift box, bound with a ribbon tag, so no need for wrapping!

Our Experience

The My First Christmas Grobag Gift Box is really impressive at first sight. The large box comes bound with a ribbon and name tag, and a clear lid so you get a sneak peak of what is inside! 🙂 Watch our unboxing video here:

The products inside are excellent value for money. The Gro Suit alone retails for £15.99 and that the Gro Bag prices start at around £20 (The reindeer one featured is £33.99 individually). You are therefore getting 5 products for a very reasonable price.

The  reindeer Gro Bag is 0-6 months, and a thick winter bag, perfect for the colder months. The reindeer design is festive in a subtle enough way that you wouldn’t feel stupid using it beyond the month of December. The Gro Suit, in a size 3-6 months, is a little big for Neve at the moment but should fit her come Christmas Eve based on her current weight gain! It has cushioned and padded arms making it even more snuggly and warm on the areas that aren’t covered by the bag. The two combined will be perfect come January time when we are in the depths of Winter.

I absolutely love the reindeer comforter. A large size blanket with four knotted corners, it is snuggly and soft and Neve enjoyed having a cuddle (when she wasn’t trying to eat it that is!). Even better, the reindeer has a hole on the base meaning you can use him as a bit of a finger puppet to entertain your little ones! 🙂 The antlers are great for her little hands to grab onto, and she enjoyed rubbing it against her cheek and face.

The bib is a good size and covers a good amount of the neck and chest. Neve is only 3 months old at present, so this would definitely fit older babies or those who may be more substantial in weight.

The final item is the Gro Stocking – this isn’t embroidered with My First Christmas, which is actually a good thing in my opinion, as it’s then something that you could put out every year going forwards for Father Christmas. It is very soft to the touch, features a little reindeer and tree, and has a loop for hanging.

Overall, I think the My First Christmas Grobag Gift Box is a fantastic idea and a gift that any new parent would love to receive for their little one. Unlike some first Christmas sets, all items within the box are practical and useful, and not just filled with novelty items that will get put to one side! As most parents will be familiar with the Gro Company brand, it is also something you can be confident will be gratefully received.

You can learn more about the Gro Company Christmas Gift Box range in the Gro Store. Prices start at £18.

*Disclosure – we were sent a My First Christmas Grobag Gift Box for our daughter free of charge in return for our honest review. All thoughts and opinions are my own.*
