REVIEW – Lee Stafford No Strings Attached Cordless Hair Straighteners
Lee Stafford Cordless No Strings Attached Hair Straightners…
Those of you who know me or read my blog regularly will know that I have very long and very thick hair. So much so that I am soon to be having the chop – donating 6 inches of my hair to the Little Princess Trust. I recently reviewed the Coco Loco Hair Straighteners from Lee Stafford and loved them – they were a great alternative to GHD’s and at a fraction of the cost.
More recently, I was offered the opportunity to test the Lee Stafford “No Strings Attached” Cordless Hair Straighteners. They sounded like a fabulous idea – the plug in my bedroom is in a pretty rubbish location in that it’s a good distance away from the mirror. As a result, I normally use my iphone camera on selfie mode to get a reflection, which quite frankly is a big pain in the bum. To have the option of moving to sit in front or an ACTUAL MIRROR or straighten whilst moving around sounded like a real positive.
About the Lee Stafford No Strings Attached Cordless Straightner
The Lee Stafford No Strings Attached Cordless Straightener is a 2 in 1 product, which can be used as either a cordless product, or in the traditional sense, plugged into the wall. Please note it is not a rechargeable straightener, but is returned to the heating base between sections of hair; holding the heat for up to 15 minutes after their removal.
The straighteners feature smooth tourmaline-ceramic plates that glide through the hair for a sleek and soft finish, and have curved edges, meaning they can be used to straighten, wave or curl your hair in a wide variety of styles.
The Lee Stafford No Strings Attached Cordless Straightener comes with a 2 year guarantee and have an RRP of £69.99.
First Impressions / Unboxing
My first impressions of the Lee Stafford “No Strings Atttached” Cordless Hair Straightners was very positive. In side the box there was:
- Charging base unit
- Straighteners
- Cord and plug (for corded use)
- Protective heat mat
- Carry Case
The addition of the protective mat was a real positive. I have a slight fear of burning my house down whilst doing my hair, so to be able to pop it down on this mat in between batches of hair is great for peace of mind. The carry case is a pleasant additional extra, with a bright pink lining, although only fits the straighteners themselves and not the charging base.
In Use Experience
I should first point out that my hair is EXTREMELY thick, and as such, my hair generally takes a long time to straighten, even with the most expensive of straighteners. I have used both GHDs and CoCo Loco straighteners previously with positive results, albeit both taking a while to finish the job.
The product is very easy to set up, and easy to swap between corded and cordless as required.
The base unit heats up the straighteners very quickly (in just a few minutes), and according to the packaging is up to 230 degrees. When using cordless, I did find that they didn’t stay as hot as I would like for very long, but then I do have extremely thick hair, so I possibly need a lot stronger heat than someone with a more fine hair or less of it! I did therefore find that I had to return the straighteners to the base unit more frequently than every 15 minutes as described. That said, they do heat up again relatively quickly, so was able to do this in between sections of hair, and this gave me time to clip pieces up as required.
Being cordless meant that I could easily move around the room without being restrained by the cord or the location of my plug socket! I was able to complete my hair in ‘chunks, sitting in front of the mirror each time.
The irons themselves are smooth and didn’t snag against my hair. The finish was good with a non frizzy feel to my hair.
Using corded, I found the process a lot faster, mainly because the temperature was constant, but it is great to have the option to quickly release from the cord and use without if and when required.
For me personally, I wish they lasted a little longer off the heating base, and I wasn’t keen on the fact the light went off once they were off the charging point – this made it harder to know whether they were on or off, and this always makes me a little paranoid. I would have also liked to have seen a clip to hold them in place for storage (as with the Coco Loco design) as this makes them much easier to put away and takes up less space.
Pros – Easy to use with or without the cord, and perfect for those who have poorly placed plug sockets or want a bit more freedom as they style. The product is suitable for a range of styles, and curls well by twisting around the plates.

wow these look well good have everything crossed xx
I decided to use these without the cord for my first use, so I plugged in the heating base and popped the straighteners in to heat up. The best thing about using them cordless, is that they stay hot for about 15 minutes once you take them off the heating base meaning that your styling doesn’t suffer while you constantly wait for them to heat up!
