Taking the Stress out of Party Bag Prep
#AD -This is a collaborative post
I absolutely love celebrating the girl’s birthdays by having a little party with their friends and family. I really enjoy the theme setting, planning activities and sending out of party invitations. There is one part of it however that I most certainly do not enjoy – sorting the party bags. Urgh.
Party bags have become an essential birthday right of passage for little ones, with many under 5’s in particular enjoying the party bags almost as much as they party itself. When the Happy Birthday song has been sung, the cake has been cut and wrapped in brightly coloured napkins, the guests say there fairwells and the children look on in anticipation, awaiting their little parting gift as a party bag with an added piece of cake is handed to them as they walk out the door.
Most years I really struggle to know where to start when sorting party bags, but this year, thanks to The Card & Party Store, sorting the party bags for Neve’s 3rd birthday will be all that much easier. I can’t believe how quickly the time has come around! The Card & Party Store very kindly sent me a selection of products from their party accessories and bag fillers range, all of which are excellent value for money, perfect for when you have already spent a fortune on planning the party itself!
Here’s a bit more about what I was sent:
Happy Birthday Balloons – The girls love to have a helium balloon set on the theme of the party and we tend to save ours and reuse our helium balloons by refilling them at the next event. That said, it is always nice to have a few regular balloons scattered around on the floor at the party itself, as little ones love to play catch, keepy uppies, making their hair go static or simply run around playing with them whilst the party music is in full swing. This little pack of 10″ Happy Birthday Balloons is a great starter pack, coming in a mixture of colours (red, blue, green and yellow) and can be filled with air or helium depending on your preference.
Party Food / Boxes – We are big fans of party food boxes in this house. Every party I go to with the girls they hardly eat a thing, normally because they are too excited to eat and just want to carry on playing or enjoying the time with their friends. We’ve been to so many parties where large birthday food buffets get served, full of pizzas, chicken nuggets, sausages and nibbles but nine times out of ten, most of the food gets left or its the parents who end up eating it as the children just aren’t interested!!
These party food boxes are lots of fun and a great alternative that helps reduce waste. You can pack each child their very own food box which they can carry to the table and unpack, and the big reveal of what’s inside as they unbox the contents makes it a little more exciting too! These party food boxes come in packs of 6 with a unisex balloons and bunting design. The box has a clear name label on the front, which is also really helpful if you have any children with allergies or specific dietary requirements, as you don’t have to rummage through the contents to remembers which box is which!
Party Bag Filler Pack Yo Yos x 4 – This pack comes with 4 mini yo yos with a smily face on the front, and are the perfect size for popping into a party bag, allowing little ones to practice their cats in the cradle techniques (perhaps with some parental assistance!). They come in four different colours, purple, yellow, blue and red, and are therefore suitable for boys and girls.
Mesh Bag of Crayons – I love party bag gifts that will actually be used, and it is always handy to have a little pack of crayons to pop into your bag for days out or meals at a restaurant. This little mesh bag comes with 6 packs of colouring was crayons, with 8 different colours in each pack.
Parachute Men – I always loved these little parachute toys when I was a child, so it’s great to see that 30 years on, they are still going strong. Again in four different colours, these little army / toy soldiers have mini parachutes on and can be thrown up into the air and slowly desend downwards like they’ve been dropped from a plane. Lots of fun!
Finally, and the biggest hit with both my girls, was the Box of Squishy Balls that comes in a pack of 12. These multi coloured balls come in lots of different colours, and are super squishy and sticky to touch – a little like a water balloon with beads inside that you can hold, squeeze and squash. With the therapeutic calming feel of a stress ball these definitely held the girls attention and I think they would be very well received in a party bag!
Overall, having seen the wider range at The Card & Party Store, I think this is a great one stop shop to get all your party bag supplies – helping take the stress out of my least favourite part of the party planning process!
