The Best Family Friendly Meals Out

The Best Family Friendly Meals Out

*This is a collaborative post

Going to a restaurant should be a treat – you don’t have to cook or wash up and you get to experience different foods. However, when you have children it can be a stressful experience. You want to go somewhere nice, but you also don’t want other people to be affected by your children if they become fussy or hyper.

Furthermore, you may also have concerns over the food being healthy and safe, and as someone who has emetophobia, I am always a bit worried about food poisoning. There was also recently a civil wrongful death lawsuit at ‘What a Burger’, after the death of one of their employees which can cause further uncertainty.

There are plenty of restaurants that cater to children and have activities for them to keep them entertained. A quick google search will tell you what is close to you. You are not limited to Wacky Warehouses – there are plenty of unique options that will ensure that the adults get a good meal too. To give you some ideas and make life a little easier, we have put together a list of fantastic restaurants for family-friendly meals out.

Zindiya, Birmingham
Zindya is an Indian street food restaurant with a casual and fun atmosphere. The restaurant’s owners are a couple and the children’s menu was put together with the help of their six-year-old daughter, Diya.

The children’s menu has a colouring and word search activity and facts about India. The children’s food options include a chicken tikka wrap, flatbread with potatoes and yoghurt, and fish and chips.

The Duke of Richmond, London
The Duke of Richmond has a traditional pub feel with lots of provisions for children. This makes it great for all the family. They have a fantastic children’s menu with lots of healthy options available and children can even eat for free every Friday afternoon!

On a Tuesday and Thursday, they also run a parent’s club between 12pm and 4pm. This is a great opportunity for stay at home parents to get out of the house, meet other parents and allow their children to socialise with other children.

There are plenty of high chairs as well as baby changing facilities in both the men’s and women’s bathrooms.

The Elephant, Torquay
The Elephant is a bright seafood restaurant that overlooks the harbour. A relaxed feel that is perfect for children.

The source of their food locally and sustainably. Despite being Michelin Star they have a separate children’s menu which the main course, dessert, and drink for just £6.95. A fantastic way to get your children eating new foods.

Felin Fach Griffin, Brecon, Powys
Felin Fach Griffin in the Cotswolds is surrounded by beautiful scenery. The lush green landscape is a perfect place for a relaxing meal.

There is a wide range of children’s meals that come with a fresh cup of locally grown apple juice.

There are always games available to keep children busy and a fantastic garden for them to explore. Additionally, they sometimes run events such as pumpkin carving at Halloween, egg hunts at Easter and gardening clubs and competitions.
