The Trials Your Body May Face After Giving Birth

This is a collaborartive post

When you give birth, your body goes through a huge trauma, so it’s not surprising that it’s not just going to go back to normal immediately. A wound the size of a dinner plate is left on the inside, and it takes time for this to heal. As well as this, you will have had to either push the baby out, or had a major surgery to get them out, both of which are going to do things to your body. Because of all this, your body might behave a little differently for a while, and you need to be prepared for this, so keep reading down below to find out some of the things you may face.

Exhaustion

One of the things that you are going to face is exhaustion. It is exhausting having a baby. There is so much that needs to be done, and even if you have a short labor, it’s still going to be exhausting. You need to make sure that you are getting at least some rest otherwise you’re not going to be any good to anyone. This means that when the baby sleeps, you need to sleep. We know that this isn’t always possible, but you’ve got to do your best if you want to avoid your body completely giving out. It’s been through a lot, so you’ve got to give it time to get back to what it used to be.

Overwhelming Feelings

Another thing that you are going to face are overwhelming feelings. Now, we’re sure that you have already been experiencing these throughout your pregnancy, especially when you consider that your hormones have been going mad for the last 9 months. This doesn’t just suddenly settle down because you have delivered your baby. You need time, and you need to give yourself a break when you feel overwhelmed

It’s important that you talk about your feelings, even if you don’t want to or you think that people are going to judge you. They’re not, but you might need a little bit more support than you’re currently getting, so you need to ensure that you get it.

Constipation

The final thing that you are going to need to look out for is constipation. This is a common issue that women who have given birth face, and you need to make sure that you are prepared. You can stock up on laxatives for constipation so that if it does happen you’re already ready to get the ball rolling on things. You can also look into some of the other methods that people use to treat constipation if you don’t want to take laxatives, it’s entirely up to you.

We hope that you have found this article helpful, and now see some of the trials that your body may face after giving birth. Giving birth is one of the hardest things that you are ever going to have to put your body through, and this is true no matter what delivery method ends up bringing your child into the world. Try not to be embarrassed or ashamed of anything that happens once your baby is born, because the majority of it is completely normal.
