Alternative Easter Gift Guide & Giveaway

Alternative Easter Gift Guide & Giveaway

Here at Real Mum Reviews, we are really excited about the Easter Holidays, for a number of reasons. Not only is it my birthday in early April (woop!) but we have two weeks without the craziness of the school run, and our infamous annual Easter Egg Hunt to prepare for. As much as I love all the Easter festivities, the amount of chocolate the girls get bought is a little bit vulgar to say the least. Whilst I don’t mind them having the odd egg here and there, I always look to find a non chocolate alternative in terms of gift – something that they can play with, something they can keep or something they can wear – things that last so much longer than chocolate which often gets consumed in the blink of an eye!

Here’s my round up of the best non chocolate gifts this Easter Season:

Erin loves sitting watching her favourite YouTube videos on the iPad, however, there is only so much I can cope with listening to someone opening surprise eggs before I actually lose my mind! These super soft and snuggly headphones from Snuggly Rascals are a very cute alternative Easter gift and also a major blessing for parents!!! 🙂 – With flat earphones encased inside a super soft fleece headband, these adorable headphones are comfortable for both short and long term use, and are ideal for drowning out the noise on family road trips during the holidays!

Debenhams Blue Zoo range have some great items this Spring that are perfect as gifts to wear over Easter. Erin fell in love with this gorgeous pink applique Bunny hoody / sweater, and loved the little holes in the sleeves to pop her thumbs through – warm and cosy and perfect for the days where the weather can’t make up it’s mind! If pink is not their colour, there is an adorable yellow chick version too! The Bunny Applique Sweater retails at £13/14 and is available in sizes 12-18 months through to 5-6 years.

Debenhams also have some great items for younger children too. I love the Blue Zoo pyjama twin pack featuring two bunny themed designs – the one below (right) and a “Some Bunny Loves You” quote. There is something incredibly cute about a little one snuggling up in their cosy pyjamas before bed, and I absolutely love Neve in blue so these were a big hit!

The Blue Zoo range also includes this adorable light pink bunny print jersey dress (left and below), which is an absolute bargain at just £9, and looks super cute paired with some tights and pump style shoes! You can check out the full range of Easter clothing at Debenhams here.

For those who are likely to get a little more muddy in their clothing, Chipmunks Kids have the perfect solution for little explorers. These brand new Lopsy bunny wellington boots with pull on handles are lined with fleece to keep little feet warm and dry when splashing in muddy puddles. Available in sizes Infant 4 to Junior 2 with prices starting at just £18!

Claire’s Accessories have a huge range of Easter themed gifts this year, with a real focus on dressing up and having fun.

Neve adores snuggling up to this super soft and fluffy TY beanie boo medium Dixie Sheep soft toy, with his huge sparkly eyes not being too dissimilar in scale to her own!! 🙂 These collectible toys are hugely popular with little ones and this is a limited edition as part of the Easter 2018 range.

For those having an Easter parade or Egg Hunt this holiday, this pastel rainbow fluffy ears headband is the perfect accessory and a little bit different from the norm!

Erin loves dressing up, and will be totally rocking this Bunny dress up set from Claire’s this year, which includes a pin on bob tail, sparkly paw mitts, and a sequin bunny ear headband, with wire inserts making them fully poseable, allowing children to have one ear up and one down if they so wish!! 🙂

Continuing on the Easter Hunt theme, these emoji #chatpacks come with 4 collectable emoji toys inside and are the ideal size for popping into plastic collectible eggs. With over 100 to collect in Series 1 alone, children will enjoy trying to collect them all, and get their hands on the elusive #squishy and #goldi specials!

These adorable slippers from Chipmunks Kids are ideal for toddlers this Easter, and perfect for keeping those little toes warm before bedtime! The adorable Katie bunny design has a durable PVC sole, which means little feet are fully supported as they grow, and touch and close tabs so that your little ones can easily take them on and off themselves. Available from infant size 4 with prices starting at just £16.

For babies and young children, these adorable brushes from Rock and Ruddle come in a wide range of designs including both rabbit and chick options that are perfect for Easter, and are one you can keep in the memory box for when they are all grown up. With super soft bristles perfect for those first downy hairs, you can guarantee there will be no tears after bath time!

Talking of bath time, we have been big fans of Cuddledry for some time now, having reviewed their hands free apron towel when Neve was small. Their range of toddler towels are an ideal Easter gift, particularly this fantastic Bunny design. Coming in one toddler ready size (Erin is 4 and it still fits perfectly!), these super soft towels have floppy bunny ears, and a press stud button meaning they can be wrapped and secured in place ready for the post bathtime snuggle! 🙂

For little ones, these super soft Molang from Tomy is the perfect bedtime companion, with his unbelievably soft body making the perfect travel pillow for road trips and travel. Soft and squishy, children will love stretching his ears and arms and watching him slowly return to his original shape. A less conventional bunny for Easter, but one guaranteed to be fought over for cuddles! 🙂

You cannot mention Easter without mentioning Peter Rabbit! With the brand new movie hitting our screens this week, many little ones will be keen to go and check out James Cordon in his starring role! Why not treat the children to a cinema trip this Easter? There is a great selection  of Peter Rabbit merchandise to accompany the movie release, including this super soft talking peter rabbit plush from Rainbow Designs. With five different phrases from Peter’s adventures, he is sure to be a big hit with the little ones! We have a review and giveaway here – so check it out for your chance to win your own!.

From talking bunnies, to moving bunnies, the kids will absolutely love this adorable Pitter Patter Pets Happy Hopping Bunny – just like a real rabbit, he twitches his nose, and moves his ears. Recommended for ages 3-8 years. Available from the Entertainer and currently reduced to just £12!!!

Last but my no means least, Erin is a huge fan of Smiggle, and is definitely not alone! This Easter, Smiggle have a fab range of Easter products including the fantastic Easter Surprise Eggs box – This cardboard box resembling a real box of eggs has 6 plastic eggs inside, each housing it’s very own surprise eraser, with loads of different designs to find! That’s not all – if you are lucky enough to find an elusive GOLDEN egg inside your pack, you can bag yourself an £150 shopping spree in a Smiggle store. These Eraser Surprise Eggs boxes have been insanely popular this Easter – so much so that they are completely sold out online – however there are still plenty in store – so do go take a look! Just £7 each.

I hope the above has given you some inspiration for Easter.

Do you fancy winning a bundle of Smiggle surprises, including one of the Eraser Surprise Eggs pictured above?

We have a fab bundle from Smiggle worth over £50 for one lucky reader!! To enter, simply use the Gleam app below. Our Standard Giveaway Terms and Conditions apply.

We did a treasure hunt with the kids. The clues lead them around the house and there were toy or egg rewards every few clues!

We had a weekend break away in Germany. A hit with my elder child but the younger hated it.

I spent Easter with my partner which was a lovely surprise, as hes in the army and he just turned up at my door on Good Friday. Probably the best Easter I have ever had.
