Mother’s Day Gift Guide 2022

Mother’s Day Gift Guide 2022

AD – This post includes press samples

Mother’s Day is fast approaching, and I don’t know about you, but jumping straight from global pandemic to  a potential world war has left me feeling more than a little stressed! If you’re looking to drop some not so subtle hints on gifts that you will really appreciate this Mother’s Day, here is some helpful inspiration!

Time to go shopping

It can be really hard for your partner and children to know what to buy for Mother’s Day, and whilst surprise gifts are always well received, sometimes it’s refreshing to pick something for yourself, something that you wouldn’t always feel justified treating yourself to under normal circumstances.

Gift cards can be an obvious choice, but they normally limit the recipient to one or two retailers, which is always a concern in the current state of the economy. The VEX gift card is different, in that the recipient can select where they spend the card, from a choice of over 150 brands! With a choice of physical cards (or digital if you are lastminute.com), you can top up the card with anything from £10 – £200. When your Mum opens the card, she can then select where she would like to spend it, with retailers including Argos, Asda, Boots, M&S and John Lewis to name but a few. Learn more at VEXgiftcards.com

Embrace the Self Care

We could all do with a bit of self care at the moment. Us Mum’s put everyone first apart from ourselves, meaning often simple tasks such as a bubble bath, skincare and sleep are pushed to the back of the queue.

If you’ve ever breastfed then chances are you’ll be aware of the magical powers of Lanolin but did you know Lansinoh have a lip balm available too? With many of us Mums facing the elements on the school run and rushing from central heated houses to cold, wet and windy storms Dudley, Eunice, Franklin or Gladys, our lips can be left feeling cracked and dry.

This handy pocket sized lip gloss helps restore moisture and protects very dry or chapped lips, as well as adding a subtle sheen effect. Simple self care that even the busiest of Mums can fit into their day!

The Lansinoh lip balm costs just £5.99 at Amazon.

Jewellery with meaning

As a Mum, there is nothing I love more than something personal from the girls. That said, I am also partial to some attractive jewellery, so something that combines the two is always going to be a hit.

Astley Clarke have a stunning range of locket necklaces as well as this gorgeous locket bracelet pictured below, which make a really personal and meaningful gift from the children for Mother’s Day.

The Biography Sterling Silver Locket Bracelet can hold two treasured memories and photographs inside the star set locket charm embedded with a white sapphire gemstone. It can also be engraved with initials or the name of your choice.

Unlike some lockets where the thought of cutting images to size may fill you with dread, Astley Clarke allow you to simply upload the images of your choice, and they print and insert them for you, so the locket comes gift boxed and ready to send to the lucky recipient.

I loved the double chain effect on this bracelet which is really unique and feminine. If ever you’re having a bad day, it’s also really special to be able to pop open the locket and see your babies beaming back at you. A little reminder of everything you’re working for!

The Biography Locket Bracelet retails at £155 at AstleyClarke.com

Photo Memories

As a Mum, there is nothing that makes me happier than capturing precious memories of the our family with my camera. So much so in fact, that the current photo count on my camera roll is 52,695 – and no, I’m not joking!

The days of printing off photo albums to show friends and family when they visit are long gone, but that doesnt mean you can’t showcase photo memories in your home.

Boots Photo have a huge amount of photo gift options to choose from, all of which allow you to share and enjoy your photos in really unique ways. As they can be completely personalised, not only with images but with text and personal messages too, you can completely tailor the gift to your recipient – in this case, photos of a Mum and her babies – something she can treasure forever!

First up is the CEWE PHOTOBOOK – unlike some photo books which can be quite labour intensive and tiresome to create, the CEWE photobook allows you to quickly and easily upload the images you wish to use, before it arranges them in to the really made template of your choice. Next, all you need to do is zoom in or rearrange your images as you wish, before adding any personal messages that you may like to include.

This photo book literally took minutes to create, but is full to the brim with stunning photographs of my girls and some of my favourite memories of when time seemed to stand still for a while. I love the hardback cover (perfect for stacking a book for each year on your bookshelves!) and the rose gold detailing.

Another really fun option is a personalised photo jigsaw – of which you can see ours below. I have to be honest I possibly made a bad decision picking a photo that included floral and straw, as this has so far taken me hours to try and complete! That said, it’s been so lovely finding little pieces of my childrens smiling faces and helping bring the complete image to life. The photo jigsaws at Boots Photo are from Ravensberger, so you can also be safe in the knowledge that this is a quality product too.
