*This post is in collaboration with 44 Cats*

Ever since the girls first came across the new TV Series 44 Cats, they have been pretty obsessed with The Buffycats – the adorable four some of furry feline friends consisting of Lampo, Milady, Pilou and Meatball, and with 44 Cats’ catchy theme music and adventure filled plots, we have gone on to watch more than our fair share of episodes in this house!

Neve in particular can’t get enough of Pilou, the super cute tabby cat who has the ability to make everyone fall in love with her with her big black eyes!

If you haven’t heard of 44 Cats yet (see our original review here) then chances are you soon will! The fab CGI animated series is shown daily on POP (Sky 616, Virgin 736 or Freeview 206) each morning, as well as on digital Nick Jr and has been a huge hit with children since launching in the UK last year.

44 Cats follows the story of four cat friends, each with very different personalities and characteristics, who love to sing and perform in their own band – The Buffycats.

Not only is the series full of fun music, rhythm and dance, with a theme song you will find yourself singing in the shower, the storylines also cover important learning themes for young children including friendship, diversity, kindness and helping others.

New 44 Cats Toy Range

Something that fans of 44 Cats will be chuffed to learn is that there is now a brand new range of CATTASTIC toys that have recently launched in The Entertainer and Argos to accompany their play time, and the girls were lucky enough to put them through their paces!

First up, we were sent a Pilou musical plush teddy. Neve was really chuffed that we got this particular character, as Pilou with her huge green eyes and pretty pink bow is her absolute favourite. The plush is the perfect size for Neve to hold (she is nearly 4). She is super soft to cuddle, has a little frilly pink skirt and when you press her tummy, the theme song from 44 Cats plays. From a parents point of view, the thing that I like most about the 44 Cats musical plush is that the music when her tummy is pressed is fairly quiet, nothing overbearing or that will drive you insane when it’s pressed on repeat.

Next up, we were sent a mini figure set of Milady. The mini characters come with two accessories (in this case a microphone stand and guitar) and have poseable arms and legs, so their arms can be moved up and down and they can swap between sitting and standing. Even their tail can be spun around and moved from side to side.

Milady comes with her shades up on her head, but these can be removed and positioned up or down (as they clip into the slide of her head with small nodules on the side).

The arms of Milady do look like they could possibly hold the guitar and microphone stand although Im not going to lie we found this a bit tricky. None the less, this didn’t detract from Neve’s enjoyment of the toy, as she loved pretending that Milady was singing into the microphone and acting out little scenes. I think these would be great products for siblings to share, recreating their own Buffycats band scenes with a couple of characters each.

The rest of the 44 Cats toy range includes:

  • 12 collectible characters from the series (each hidden inside a dustbin for surprise and big reveal fun!)
  • Twin packs of colour-change figures
  • 8” magical plush
  • Playsets with figure assortments.

44 Cats Playsets will be available from the Summer and include the 44Cats Treehouse, an Auto Garage and vehicles with character assortments, as well as Lampo’s light up musical microphone with the ability to record and play four pre-programmed songs from the series.

Overall the 44 Cats toy range looks set to be a great accompaniment to the show, with lots of fun, interactive and musical elements to enjoy.

You can check out the full range of 44 Cats toys at The Entertainer here (with many more additions soon to follow.)
