REVIEW – Baby Clementoni Interactive Ride On Unicorn

REVIEW – Baby Clementoni Interactive Ride On Unicorn

I am yet to meet a little girl who isn’t slightly obsessed with Unicorns. They are EVERYWHERE. Unicorns, mermaids and even Llamas lately seem to be the biggest craze amongst little ones, and now as well as Erin, it appears that Neve too has fell slightly in love with the adorable mythical creature!

When we were invited to put the new Baby Clementoni Interactive Ride on Unicorn to the test, I knew straight away that Neve was going to be a fan, and couldn’t wait for it to arrive!

What is the Baby Clementoni Interactive Ride on Unicorn

This Baby Clementoni Interactive Ride On Unicorn offers a whole range of play options. It can be used as a traditional style rocking horse, a ride along toy or a stand alone activity centre. It comes with an interactive electronic mane, with lots of elements to help bring out your little one’s imagination!

The Baby Clementoni Interactive Ride on Unicorn helps teach children their ABCs, numbers, colours, animal names and noises and so much more, all with cheerful rhymes and songs and the option to learn many new words in both Spanish and English. The unicorn also senses movement, with the sounds and melodies springing to life when the rocking or riding begins.

First Impressions

The first impressions of the Baby Clementoni Interactive Ride on Unicorn were very positive – he is adorable! Even from the packaging I could see the visual appeal of this unicorn toy – he was very cute, with a smiley face, friendly eyes and lots of bright colours throughout.

Neve saw it in the packaging and was VERY keen for us to get it out of the box straight away!

The packaging describes the Baby Clementoni Interactive Ride on Unicorn as a three in one product, as it is an activity centre, rocking horse and ride on horse, although I would personally describe it as a 2 in 1, as the activity centre in my opinion is just a feature included with the other two.

Assembly of the Baby Clementoni Ride on Unicorn

The Baby Clementoni Interactive Ride on Unicorn does require a bit of initial assembly, and so as usual, I delegated this task to the other half. In his opinion, the set is very easy to put together – the instructions were easy to follow with pictures and text, despite the number of parts looking a bit daunting when you first remove it from the box. The set does require the use of a small screwdriver, as has some screws to hold the handlebar pieces together before they are clicked in place.

The construction of the set took around 15/20 minutes, before I volunteered to take on the easy part of sticking on the stickers – including the little wings, stickers for the harness, and circles for on the wheels.

Once built, the set can be very easily switched from rocking mode to ride on mode by simply clipping the wheels into the frame of the rocker, and unclipping them when you want to swap.

The Baby Clementoni Interactive Ride on Unicorn requires 2AAA batteries but these are included with the pack.

Neve was very keen to jump on and first tried it out in rocking horse (or should I say rocking unicorn) mode. She was able to very quickly figure out how to rock straight away.

Baby Clementoni Interactive Ride On Unicorn

The Baby Clementoni Interactive Ride on Unicorn has large handle bars which were easy to hold for small hands, and Neve seemed very comfortable on the seat. Whilst rocking, Neve had plenty of space to pop her feet on to the rocker base so they were out of the way.

To change from rocking mode to ride on mode you simply unclip the wheels from the rocking frame and pop it to one side. This takes mere seconds to do.

The toy then becomes a ride on unicorn, where Neve could use her legs to push along the floor and roll backwards and forwards.

Neve was a big fan of the interactive play element of the Ride on Unicorn – she loved the range of sounds and lights – with the differnet buttons teaching abcs, numbers, colours sounds and nursery rhymes. With the songs being quite catchy, Neve learned the tune pretty quickly, and started to sing along to the last word which was very cute. You can turn the sounds on or off and easily switch between English and Spanish as required.

The volume of the sounds is not too loud, which from a parents point of view is always a positive! As the buttons are pressed, the little star on the unicorn’s face lights up.

Baby Clementoni Interactive Ride On Unicorn

Overall, the Baby Clementoni Interactive Ride on Unicorn, is educational, lots of fun, and with the interchangeable element, makes it an adaptable toy that can grow with your child. I love the fact you can switch between the two so quickly, making it ideal for children who are slightly younger than Neve and can adjust from one setting to the other as they grow.

The Baby Clementoni Ride on Unicorn retailed at £39.99 and is available to buy now at Smyths.

*Disclosure – We were sent the Baby Clementoni Interactive Ride On Unicorn free of charge for the purpose of this review however as always, all thoughts and opinions are my own*
