Themed Costume Parties: Dressing Up for Family Fun

This is a collaborative post

Do you have parties coming up? If you want to make sure the whole family has a lot of fun, themed or costume parties can add a touch of fun and excitement to any party. Whether you’re celebrating with Christmas parties, Halloween parties, or just someone’s birthday, think about the following ideas for your next family party:

Dress up as a TV family

If you’re trying to choose Halloween costumes for the upcoming holidays for the whole family, showing up as a family with corresponding characters can be a fabulous and easy way to celebrate with your costumes. Whether you all like watching shows like Modern Family or your little one loves Peppa the Pig, start shopping for your holiday outfits so that you can find your TV family outfits to show up as a family unit at your Halloween party.

Do an ugly Christmas sweater party

If you have some invitations showing up for ugly Christmas sweater parties, you may want to start shopping today. While many high street stores typically have Christmas sweaters over the holidays, they’re typically quite basic and can be seen on everyone in town.

Instead, look online for unique couples ugly Christmas sweaters so that you and your sweetheart can show up with the best ones around. If you’re going with your little ones, you’ll be sure to find options for baby Christmas sweaters online as well. You’ll be amazed at what’s out there. Plus, most people who throw ugly Christmas sweater parties also do some type of competition, so if you’re competitive, you’ll want to make sure to show up with winning options.

Dress your kids in opposing characters

If you’re the proud parents of twins or a couple of kids, consider finding outfits that can work in unison with each other. For example, an angel and devil, peanut butter and jelly, or opposing characters from favourite childhood stories can be the ideal way to dress up your little ones for a theme party. Ask your kids if they have any favourite characters they’d like to dress up as for this dynamic duo idea. In my kids case, Tweedle Dum and Tweedle Dee and Thing 1 and 2 spring to mind!

Your family’s favourite team

With football season in full swing, if you’re the kind of family that cares about sports, this is the perfect reason to throw a theme party based entirely on your favourite team on the day that they play. From party favours to making sure everybody in your family has team shirts to wear on the day of the game, you can be sure that a theme party like this one is great for sports fanatics. Invite your friends and family to join in on the fun.

Favorite cartoon theme

Whether your kids love the Little Mermaid or they adore Coco, you’ll want to set up a party that has everything set up around this theme. This includes décor, entertainment, food, and outfits. Think about hiring a face painter and balloon artist who can provide you with services that fall in line with the party theme.

You’d be amazed at what professional entertainers can come up with for their clients. Find and download playlists from your favourite music streaming service so that everyone can sing along to their favourite songs from their favourite movie. The good thing about doing a cartoon theme is that it’s a lot easier to find everything from paper plates to party favours that already have the cartoon design on them. Some other themes may require some more DIY projects for the end result to be in theme such as building a Barbie display box or creating the perfect Platform 9 and 3/4!

In conclusion

The options for a theme party are endless, especially when it comes to kids who can be happy with almost anything that you can think of. From cartoons to books, TV, and more, there are no limitations to the kind of costume party you can come up with for family fun. If you’re getting ready for Halloween, start looking for outfits today!
