After much anticipation and excitement on Yoto’s socials over the last few weeks, we’re excited to reveal that the new Yoto Player 4th Gen (and the Yoto Mini 4th Gen!) have arrived and are now available to preorder. I’m the community manager of Yoto Fans UK, and my two daughters have grown up with Yoto since 2019 and have amassed a huge library of Yoto cards. As such, we’re super excited to learn what this new release has to offer.
Want the lowdown on what’s new and whether it’s worth upgrading? Here’s everything you need to know about the Yoto Player 4th Gen (2026)
How does the new Yoto Player 2026 compare to the 3rd Gen Yoto Player?

What is the Green Button on the Yoto Player 4th Gen (2026)?
The eagle-eyed amongst you will have spotted that the Yoto Player 4th Gen 2026 features a NEW Green Button on the right hand side. Here’s what it’s for:
- The Yoto Player 4th Gen’s Green Button is a quicker way for children to access their favourite content independently
- By twisting and pressing the Green Button, kids can jump straight into up to 20 of their favourite audio titles without inserting a Yoto Card.
- Adults can set up personalised playlists on the Yoto App (using both purchased titles and free content from their library).
- Parents can configure different playlists for different times of day
- The green button can even be a shortcut to digital-only cards and free bonus audio available in the App, including soundscapes and toothbrush timers.
Families can get started with the Green Button right away, with a free 5 Minute Stories From Around the World digital Yoto Card included with the purchase of the Yoto Player 4th Gen. A free Make Your Own Card and stickers are also included in the box, which can be linked to the digital cards via the App or player.
How does the Yoto Player 4th Gen (2026) support my child’s bedtime routine?
With the new Green Button, you can create bespoke playlists for mornings and evenings.
For mornings, a playlist could bring together the award-winning Yoto Daily podcast, a toothbrush timer or some fascinating facts from the BrainBots. At bedtime, families might choose lullabies, white noise, Yoto Sleep Radio or a soothing story.

The all-new night light panel on the Yoto Player 4th Gen can also provide bedtime and OK-to-Wake cues for your child.
A big step up from the nightlight on the 3rd Gen Yoto Player, the nightlight isn’t just around the trim, but a full light panel. This can provide a calming glow or signal when it’s time to wake up. You can choose from 7 different colours, and future free software updates will also introduce dynamic lighting that creates visual effects depending on what children are listening to.
What are the techical specifications for the Yoto Player 4th Gen (2026)?
The Yoto Player 4th Gen is faster, tougher and better than ever, with a new processor, boosted memory, Wi-Fi 6 and Bluetooth 6.1 keep everything quick, connected and easy to use.
The Yoto Player 4th Gen has also been upgraded to hold 64GB of storage – double the 32GB of the existing model and enough for up to 1,000 hours of audio.
Battery life looks to have slightly reduced; however, we will be sure to put this through hands-on testing once the product arrives in our home.
Will existing adventure jackets and accessories be compatible with the Yoto Player 4th Gen (2026)?
Due to the addition of the Green Button, its unlikely you’ll be able to use the existing silicone adventure jackets. Headphones and wireless headphones will still be compatible with the Yoto Player 4th Gen (2026).
A new range of updated silicone Adventure Jackets are being launched in four new vibrant colourways.
How much is the Yoto Player 4th Gen (2026)?

Is the Yoto Player 4th Gen (2026) worth it?
As the Yoto Player 4th Gen (2026) is only available to preorder, we’re yet to personally test it, however the Yoto Player 4th Gen will be worth it if:
