I’d definitely class myself as a bit of a Potterhead. I was a huge fan of the Harry Potter series growing up, reading the books religiously and pre-ordering them on Amazon so that they would arrive on the day of release. I remember sitting on the window sill at my childhood home waiting for the postman to arrive, and getting (more than) a little bit livid concerned when it got to 3pm and he still hadn’t materialised. I was desperate to get my hands on the last book and learn how the series ended – excited to know the finale, but at the same time sad that the adventures of Harry and his friends would be finally bought to a conclusion.
Now that my daughter is 8, she too has developed a love for the Harry Potter series, mainly through watching the films on TV and reading the books. She fancies herself as a bit of a Hermione Granger, often commenting how she has Hermione hair when she has taken out her plaits. She desperately wants to go to the Warner Brothers Harry Potter studios and see Hogwarts for herself, and we are slowly ticking off locations from her Harry Potter Locations Bucketlist, including a visit to platform 9 and 3/4 at Kings Cross Station in London.
Despite the Harry Potter films having been out for a while now, the love for Harry Potter doesn’t seem to be going anywhere soon, with Potterheads young and old still celebrating the series and its characters.
