Mother’s Day Gift Guide & Giveaway

Mother’s Day Gift Guide & Giveaway

Mother’s Day is the perfect time to show the Mum’s, mother figures or grandmothers in your life just how much they mean to you. If you are a Mum yourself, it’s also the perfect day to have a bit of appreciation for what is often a thankless task! With just under two weeks to go until the special day, here’s our post full of inspiration with gift ideas for every kind of Mum, and a fab competition to make one Mum’s day end on a real high!

For the Memory Maker

  1. The Alcatel Idol 5 is a fab alternative android smart phone for Mums that love nothing more than snapping photos of their children (guilty as charged!). At just £152.99 with a fantastic battery life and a huge 13 mega pixel camera, this super lightweight phone full HD display is the perfect gift. Coupled with 16GB of internal storage, there is plenty of space for even the snap happiest of parents!
  2. For iPhone or iPad users, the Sandisk iXpand 32GB USB Flashdrive is a great way to free up space and avoid needing to pay the annual apple cloud storage fees which can really add up! The iXpand automatically backs up your photos and videos, providing high-speed transfer to and from your computer. As we print less images these days, this is a great way of ensuring those precious memories don’t get lost!
  3. For the sentimental mama, personalised photo gifts are ideal- these photo keyrings from Boots are perfect at just pocket money prices – and means mum can have her babies carried round with her whereever she goes!

For the Statement maker…

4 – The Over Thinking Thinker notepad from UStudio Designs is perfect for list making, memory storing or rant drafting, and at just £5 is perfect for the office Mum, or organised Mum!

5 – You can’t beat a statement coaster – and these are two of my favourites from UStudio Designs – both of which pretty much sum up my approach to Motherhood. We’re all just making it up as we go along at the end of the day!! £2.50 each and a whole range of options to chose from – from inspirational to humorous, bright to monochrome.

6 – This Mum’s Place to Vent Journal from Paperchase is the perfect place to record all of those thoughts that you have in your head but aren’t brave enough to say out loud… I love the gold and white theme and header quotes that sum up motherhood in a few simple words from “Take a Deep Breath” to “I am literally covered in sick” 🙂 – £8

7 – One of my favourite books as a child, and one that a lot of Mums will be familiar with – this Hungry Caterpillar themed I love Mum book is full of beautiful illustrations and all the reasons why we love Mum! £5.99

For the Mother on the Go…

8. With rumours of new charges from coffee shops as a tax on disposeable cups, many people are opting for more environmentally friendly options, such as these reuseable travel mugs from Truffleshuffle. We love this We’re All Mad Here Alice in Wonderland themed travel cup, with it’s monochrome theme being a subtle yet stylish carrier for your Mum’s morning fuel.

9. On the reuseable theme,  Mum doesn’t want to be raking up those 5p bag charges every time she pops to the supermarket – these canvas Mum Sanity tote bags from Cley are just £14, and pretty much sum up Motherhood in one quick checklist. Available in a choice of five colours including black, mint green and cotton candy pink, this is a great suggestion for a new Mum or a gift from the Bump for the Mum to be.

For the Mums who deserve a treat…

10. Buyagift have a huge range of treats for the Mum who deserves something that extra special, including spa breaks, hotel breaks, days out and fun experiences. The vouchers are flexible, and can be used on a whole range of experiences – whether your Mum’s a thrill seeker or a chill seeker, there really is something for everyone. My personal choice would always be a relaxing spa day with a treatment or two. See below for your chance to win your own spa break for two! Mum wants something a bit more adventurous? You can exchange your prize for any experience of the same value! (T&Cs apply).

11. This adorable My Child My Heart necklace from Cley is the perfect treat for a sentimental mum, featuring a mother cradling her child in her arms. Made from sterling silver with cubic zircon stones, and presented in it’s very own gift box, this necklace would make a great gift for a new Mum or Mum to be, or Mum celebrating their very first Mother’s Day, and marks that special bond between mother and child.

12. Some days, all Mums could do with when the kids have gone to bed is a nice stiff drink!!! 🙂 – But this isn’t just any old drink – how about a glass of pure Unicorn Tears? – a glitter filled gin liqueur from Firebox – an extra special tipple for an extra special Mum. This fantastic 50cl bottle (40% volume) has swirls of pink glitter throughout, meaning not only does it taste amazing but looks amazing too! (If Vodka is more likely to be the drink of choice they sell Mermaid Tears too!!)

For the perfectly preened Mum…

Even miracles take a little time – and this Disney make up bag is perfect for Mums who like to spend a little time mastering perfection in the mornings! 🙂 The brightly coloured bag from Truffleshuffle’s Disney Range  has a classic retro Cinderella quote and makes a perfect Mother’s Day gift for those who love to travel.

For the Superhero Mum

For the Ultimate Mother’s Day gift, why not treat mum to a HOT cup of tea, in her very own superhero mug?? I absolutely LOVE this Sass & Belle “I’m a Mum What’s Your Superpower’ mug from Prezzybox – the perfect way to treat your Mum in style (ideally with a chocolate digestive or two).

For the Mum with a Sense of Humour

Finally for the Mum who can see the lighter side of life! With the second Fifty Shades of Grey movie showing in cinemas now  these 50 Shades of Grey Pencils are sure to raise a smile!! UStuidio have lots of fab pencil sets for the stationery addict (to the point where I have had to stop looking!), each with there own theme or statement.

We hope the above has given you some much needed inspiration. If you are a Mum and you like what you see, why not share or tag your other half as a not so subtle hint!! 😉

Because she worked her pants off so she could keep being my mum and for that, I’m so proud of her and all the other mums who keep fighting.

She raised me from the tender age of 16 all on her own. I couldn’t even imagine raising a child at the age I am now (well over 30) let alone at 16! She deserves an award as I’ve turned out pretty awesome!

She’s helped me grow in every way
She made childhood fun and played games with me
She’s been the best possible mum, a mum can be
She likes to knit and sew, be creative and craft
And she never worries about acting a little daft
