Tommee Tippee Recalls over 3million cups!
Millions of Tommee Tippee baby and toddler cups have been recalled in the US and Canada after a post from a concerned Dad went viral, of mould forming in the valves – this difficult to clean element of the cups has been blamed for making children ill with sickness and diarrhoea.
Mayborn USA, the manufacturer behind Tommee Tippee, is now recalling more than 3 million of its sippy cups after 70 children have reportedly become ill by drinking from cups with mouldy valves, according to the Consumer Products Safety Commission in the US.
Tommee Tippee in the UK responded to the viral posts on Facebook earlier in the year by issuing advice on cleaning the valves in the affected cups, and have offered replacement clear valves so that parents could see clearly whether the cups were clean. They are also issuing a new form of cup in coming months. See how to get your hands on a clear valve from Tommee Tippee here – http://www.tommeetippee.co.uk/support/faqs/one-piece-valve-cup/
Please note – to date, no confirmation has been received regarding whether Mayborn or Tommee Tippee will be recalling any of the products in the UK, although this seems likely. Real Mum Reviews have approached Tommee Tippee for comment and will update with any response.
Omg, I had to chuck out the 12+ month insulated sipper away the other day for my twins because their was limescale in the lid. It was so frustrating, the amount of bottles I go through with these kids because of that or them easily destroying
