RECALL – Mothercare My First Keys

Mothercare have issued an urgent recall notice on their My First Keys baby product.

Voluntary recall

Mothercare is undertaking a voluntary recall of the Mothercare My First Keys due to a risk of the battery compartment coming off and exposing the button cell battery inside. Button cell battery’s can be extremely dangerous if swallowed. This toy was sold in Mothercare stores and on the Mothercare website from June 2017 to April 2018.

Only the Mothercare My First Keys with a batch code of 02-161024, 02-161205 and 02-170509 are affected by this recall. The picture above indicates where this information can be found. All other versions are unaffected.

If you own one of these toys you should stop using it immediately and return your product to a Mothercare store where a full refund will be given. You do not need to have proof of purchase.

PRODUCT RECALL – Boots Soothers / Dummies

Boots have issued a voluntary recall on two types of Boots Baby Soothers due to a potential manufacturing fault.

As a precautionary measure they are asking anyone who has purchased either of these two Boots Baby Soothers (one for babies 0-6 months and the other for 6 months plus) to return them to stores immediately for a refund or replacement with a similar item. You do not require a receipt.

Boots would like to confirm that as soon as a fault was identified as part of their quality control processes they immediately removed these lines from sale. No other products are affected.

RECALL – Cath Kidston Kids Drinking Bottles

Cath Kidston have this evening issued a voluntary recall on their kids drinking bottles due to a potential choking hazard.

The recall affects kids drink bottles (Hankie Rose, Pets Party, Hampstead Ditsy, Marching Band and Construction Site) sold between 12 June 2017 and 14  August 2017. This is a batch issue, so cups purchase outside of these dates are not of concern.#

Cath Kidston have identified a potential issue whereby the silicone tip of the straw may come loose and could as such create a choking hazard.

The recall is a precautionary measure to ensure the safety of customers.

Customers who purchased any of the drink cups within the dates quoted or received as a gift should stop using it immediately and return to any Cath Kidston store for a full refund. Alternatively contact Customer Services on 0333 320 2663 (between 9am and 8pm Monday to Friday or 10-4 sat and sun). You do not require proof of purchase.

mothercare have issued a voluntary recall on their loved so much bouncer

mothercare is undertaking a voluntary recall of the mothercare loved so much bouncer due to a risk of injury. In the event of incorrect assembly there is a risk that the fabric seat unit could become detached from the frame, which could result in a child falling through.

This bouncer was sold in mothercare stores and on the mothercare website.

Bouncers with a batch date of 12/2015 onwards and with a barcode ending in 843611-3 are affected by this recall. The picture above indicates where this information can be found. All earlier versions are unaffected.

If you own one of these bouncers please stop using it immediately and return your product to a mothercare store where a full refund will be given.

RECALL – Lamaze Munching Max Toy

Tomy have today launched a voluntary recall on their Lamaze Munching Max Chipmunk Toy due to a sharp point hazard.

This recall includes the Lamaze Munching Max Chipmunk Toy with item number L27578 that can be found on the sewn in label near the tail. The toy is green and blue with a white clip. It has been discovered that an internal part of the toy could break and create a sharp point that penetrates the surface of the toy.

Consumers should stop using the toy and contract TOMY on 01271 336 155 for a full refund + 30% of SRP.

RECALL – Girls Next Sandals

Next are recalling a children’s sandal product due to risk of a choking hazard.

Next have identified a problem with the sandal shown below. You’ll find the item number (193426) on the heel strap.


Unfortunately, it’s come to light that there’s a potential problem with the star rivets, which could become detached, presenting a choking hazard to young children.

As the sandals don’t meet Next’s strict technical specifications, they’ve taken the decision of recalling them, and are requesting that you return them to your nearest store for a full refund. You do not need a receipt.
