Bath Time Bundle Christmas Gifts for Babies…

I am yet to meet a baby who doesn’t love bath time, and both my girls have been no exception. To help a parent’s sanity, some decent bath toys are an absolute must with little ones and a fun way of encouraging play whilst ensuring they go to bed squeaky clean. The Tomy Toomies Turtle Bath Salon is new to the Tomy Toomies range and I predict this will be just as popular as the Foam Cone Factory which sold out pretty much everywhere last year. The Turtle Bath Salon sticks on to side of the bath tiles to create your toddlers very own bubble hair salon! Pop the little octopus into the slot and pull the trigger to create a special bubble hairstyle before using the comb to perfect the look. To start again simply squeeze the octopus to blow the bubbles away. The Tomy Toomies Turtle Bath Salon has an RRP of £19.99 and the only challenge with this one might be getting them OUT of the bath before they start to go wrinkly!

These little bath time gift sets from Green People are an ideal Christmas gift for babies and toddlers, and make a great bath time starter pack. The Organic Babies Silent Night box is a duo of lavender baby care products including a baby wash & shampoo and soothing baby salve, ideal for babies with sensitive skin or eczema, whilst the Organic Children Fruity Favourites contains a range of fantastic fruity smelling organic products, including Citrus Crush shampoo, Berry Smoothie bath and shower gel and Lavender Burst conditioner. The set also comes with a cute colouring book with stickers featuring Jamie, Budsie and their fruity friends. Vegan friendly and made from organic ingredients, the sets are £16.50 and £35 respectively.

Bathtime can often become a huge part of that daily bedtime routine, with the aim of helping us all achieve that illusive good nights sleep. For many, it’s all about creating routine, and having a moment to create a special bond with your baby. Johnsons have recently created the Sleep Tight Gift Set, containing their Bedtime Baby Bath, Wash, Oil and Lotion, as well as a book and some bedtime socks all safely secured in a handy storage bag (ideal for storing bath toys too!). This is a lovely little set for those with newborns or young babies hoping to start their own family routine. The Sleep Tight Set retails at just £10 and makes a really attractive and useful gift.

Christmas Gift for Babies Nursery

Buying Christmas gifts for babies doesn’t have to mean just buying toys and teethers, you can also pick up some adorable items for the nursery too, ideal for those with babies on the way or those who are working to create an adorable place for their little ones to sleep.

I really adore this little “You are so loved” print from Mode Prints, which sums up pretty much how I feel when I get to cuddle my girls before bed every single night. I feel so lucky to have them, and so this serves as a little visual reminder of just how much we adore them (sometimes I need a reminder lol).

If you’re not one to be outwardly emotional or are looking for a slightly more ironic or sarcastic slant for your Nursery artwork, this “All You need is Sleep” print from My Arthaus is perfect. This is currently on display in Neve’s nursery as what I hope will serve as some kind of subliminal message, as she is officially one of the worst sleepers I have ever come across. If all we really do need is sleep, then I am officially screwed lol 🙂

The Newborn Essentials

A high quality baby carrier like this one (the NEW Baby Bjorn Baby Carrier Mini) is an absolute life saver in those early newborn days when they just want to be held allllll the time, and is even more useful if you have a second child which will also demand your attention. Leaving your arms free to hold a toddlers hand, make yourself a drink or simply spread the weight more comfortably across your body, baby wearing is definitely something to consider. Baby Bjorn carriers are high quality, beautifully designed and super stylish, making this a great gift for a new parent or parent to be.

Ask any parent for some of their baby essentials, and once you’ve moved on from the obvious muslin squares and nappies, I would hasten a guess that Gro Bags will come pretty high up the list. With a range of togs from 1.5 to 3.5 to suit every temperature as well as travel options which zip from the front, your little one can never have too many of these gorgeous sleep bags, as recommended by the Lullaby Trust for safe sleeping. The adorable new Playful Penguin Gro Bags are made from super soft cotton rich velour and are perfect for those cooler winter nights when the temperature really takes a dip. Available in sizes from 0-6 months to 18-36 months, babies of all ages will be snug as a bug in their cots, with no additional sheets or blankets required.

Also from Gro is this super cute Percy the Penguin Light & Sound Sleep Aid – the perfect sleep companion for your little ones. Not only is Percy the Penguin incredibly cute and friendly to look at, he also plays four comforting sounds including rainfall, static white noise, Brahm’s lullaby and a familiar heartbeat sound, to instantly comfort and reassure your baby as they settle down to sleep. With a gentle warm glow from his tummy offering four different levels of light, Percy can be attached by a secure Velcro fastening to your cot, moses basket or carseat. The best feature of Percy the Penguin from a parents perspective is the super intelligent Cry Sensor with listens and reactivates the sounds to help keep them calm should they stir! How amazing is that!! 🙂

For slightly older babies and toddlers who may be a little scared of the dark, the Skip Hop Moonlight and Melodies Nightlight Soother offers three different ways to sooth your baby, from a dimmable nightlight (the glowing belly of the owl), to nature and music sounds, or a stunning moon and stars projection, creating the illusion of a night sky right above your baby’s cot. The lights and sounds can be used in any combination depending on the situation. The projection element is a really nice addition and he would be a great addition to any nursery.

Play Time

Another great idea for Christmas gifts for babies are products from the Lamaze toys range. Lamaze toys are again, an absolute baby essential – and both my girls had a wide selection of Lamaze products to play with in their first early years. Bright coloured, tactile materials with lots of sounds and textures to explore these toys are fantastic for encouraging babies to reach out, touch and learn more about the world around them. New additions to the range this Autumn / Winter include Flapping Fiona – the flamingo amongst a flock of penguins, who’s wings move up and down when the white clip is pulled and Rolling Rosa, the brightly coloured puffa fish who is ideal for babies starting to make their first movements, encouraging them to reach out and crawl in order to roll him and push him away. Excellent value for money and toys that really last the test of time, no matter how much they are chewed and pulled, these are an ideal gift for babies and parents to be!

For babies Skip Hop Light Up Dog Piano is the perfect creative play toy, with its tilted base making it ideal for little ones who have just learned to sit. With light up keys and four different songs and note sounds, this cute piano toy with soft tactile ears is a great way to introduce little ones to the world of music. The Skip Hop Light Up Dog Piano is available to buy at John Lewis and retails at just £13.50.

For the Parents

When it comes to having children, any products that can make our parents lives just that little bit easier make a great gift at Christmas. If your buying for someone who has a baby on the way the Tommee Tippee Day and Night Perfect Prep is an excellent place to start, helping prepare bottles at the right volume and temperature in just two minutes flat – silently – ideal for when a demanding newborn is ready for their milk! With a new night time glow mode to make night feeds clear and simple without waking the baby more than necessary, the Perfect Prep works with almost all bottle and formula brands. Trust me, they’ll be thanking you at 3am.

Capturing every memory

There are lots of milestone cards on the market these days, with these little cards being snapped in photographs to create a record of key moments during your babies life, from their first weeks and months, through to their first tooth, first food, and first steps. Many of them are quite factual, and some, dare I say it, a little bit boring! You can always rely on Love Layla however to do things a little bit differently. These Special Moment cards from Love Layla Designs get the award for 100% keeping it real, saying all the things that Mums are really thinking when they snap those special moments with their camera.

First Reads

Finally, in my opinion, you can never start reading to your children too early (see the benefits of reading to babies and toddlers). This super cute Baby Robot Book is an ideal first read for little ones, with both lights and sounds as well as different textures to feel. Helping built fine motor skills, learn about cause and effect and stimulate their sense, Baby Robot is an adorable little board book which is also comes with an important message – that we all have to sleep and rest to be at our best!

So there we have it, from bathtime to bedtime, play time and more, I hope this little selection gives you some food for thought when planning your Christmas purchases! Have you started your shopping yet?
