Looking after your own health and wellbeing when you are a busy working mum can sometimes feel very tricky, but in reality, you do need to take care of number one that you can be healthy and strong for your children. So here are some tips on what you can do to lead a more active lifestyle in your busy routine.

Incorporate Exercise Into Your Routine at Home

When the children are settled or are busy doing an activity then why not get your phone, search for an online fitness video and get a gym mat down in the living room. It doesn’t need to be a long fitness video but just something that will encourage you to do some gentle exercises and stretches. You will feel better afterwards for doing this.

Manage Those Food Cravings With Sensible Snacks

If you opt for healthier snacks that will sustain your energy and sugar levels for much longer then you are going to be less likely to reach for the crisps and chocolate bars. Ensuring you have some healthy snacks at home such as the Kwiketo Snack Subscription Box will mean that you always have something to snack on when you are busy doing mum duties.

Try Getting Out To Do a Run

All you need is some comfortable clothing and a comfy pair of running shoes, so why not give running a go. You can do it on your own if you want some peace and quiet or you could join a local running club if it will encourage you to get motivated, by running with other people. The best thing about this is that it is completely free as well so you don’t need to worry about spending money on a gym membership that you will ultimately not use. Getting outdoors in the fresh air is very good for your mental wellbeing which is extremely important when you are a mum. You need to be fighting fit as much as possible when you have your little ones to look after.

Get Some Sleep!

Something that is probably easier said than done, but getting enough good quality sleep is really important for your overall health. Otherwise, you will be lethargic and irritable if you do not get enough sleep. If you are having trouble getting to sleep, then try including some relaxing bedtime routines prior to sleep so that you can hopefully drift off until one of your children wakes up in the middle of night needing you.

It might not seem natural to focus on your own wellbeing but as a busy mum you also need to remember to look after yourself too, otherwise who will look after your little ones.
