Best & Most Popular Squishmallows 2024

Best & Most Popular Squishmallows 2024

First landing on the scene in 2017, Squishmallows have become one of the UK’s best selling toys, and with good reason. Here’s everything you need to know about Squishmallows and the Real Mum Review’s round up of the Best Squishmallows 2024

What are Squishmallows?

Squishmallows are supersoft pillow like characters. They make comfortable companions, bedtime buddies and cute travel cushions. In Squishmallows own words, hugging a Squishmallow is like hugging a cloud, with a soft, lightweight,  marshmallow-like texture. There are over 1,000 Squishmallows characters to collect, with new Squishmallows being released all the time. Each Squishmallow has their own unique name and a back story about their personality on the tag.

If you’re already a Squishmallows fan and have landed here simply to find the best Squishmallows 2024, you can skip straight to that section of the blog below. Otherwise read on to learn more about the Squishmallows craze

Can you trust us?

We’ve been sharing our honest reviews of products and services at Real Mum Reviews since 2013. We pride ourselves on providing detailed, thorough and impartial reviews and aim to answer the questions that parents really want to know when making those all-important purchase decisions. Whether the item has been gifted to us or paid for directly by ourselves, we promise to provide honest, impartial and genuine verdicts of our experience including our views on the pros and cons of each product we test.

How many Squishmallows are there?

At the time of writing, there are over 1000 Squishmallow characters to collect, so whilst these collectible toys aren’t one where you can aim to collect them all, you can certainly expect to amass quite the collection. Some Squishmallows are also now retired or discontinued, meaning they have a good resale value on sites like eBay and vinted.

What Squishmallow themes are there?

Squishmallows are available in a wide range of themes including seasonal styles, limited edition Squishmallows and Exclusive Squishmallows that you can only get your hands on at specific retailers. If you’re new to the Squishmallows world, you can pick up anything from animal Squishmallows to Fruit Squishmallows, Disney Squishmallows and much much more. The most popular Squishmallows tend to be the limited edition brands, Disney / Marvel characters or specific animals including the Axolotl and Turtle squishmallows.

What Squishmallow sizes are there?

Squishmallows come in a range of sizes including small, medium and large sizes. The most common Squishmallow sizes are 7.5 inches / 18cm, 12 inches / 30cm, 16 inches / 40cm and 20 inches / 50cm, with the smaller sizes starting at around £9.

Aren’t Squishmallows just a toy?

You’d be forgiven for wondering why you’re paying so much for what on the surface looks just like a regular soft toy or plush. However, Squishmallow isnt just a toy. Squishmallows are incredibly squishy (clue’s in the name). The most popular Squishmallows are not only are they super comfortable to lie on and cuddle, but they are great for lounging around with when gaming, reading or chilling at the end of the day. They come in a range of sizes, from small 8 inch Squishmallows through to jumbo Squishmallows which measure 20 inches or even more!

Where can I buy Squishmallows?

Squishmallows are available at a number of retailers in the UK including Amazon, The Entertainer, Claires Argos and Smyths Toys. Some of the best Squishmallows are exclusive to Smyths and Claires so you won’t find them anywhere else. You can also buy popular Squishmallows at Costco if you are a member (unfortunately Costco Squishmallows aren’t available to buy online).

Are there any cheaper alternatives to Squishmallows?

Yes, there are a few alternatives to Squishmallows, specifically the Ty Squish-a-Boos and DreamBeams, both of which make a cheaper alternative to Squishmallows. Ty Squish-a-Boos in particular are particularly affordable in comparison. That said, Squishmallows have developed quite an iconic reputation in the soft collectable plushes space and chances are, your children will not want the Squishmallow alternatives or Squishmallow dupes quite so much. DreamBeams are probably the closest softness to the Squishmallow and the image below is a good example of how cosy they are to cuddle.

Are Squishmallows worth it?

Here at realmumreview.com, my girls have road tested them all – Squishmallows, DreamBeamz and Ty Squish-a-Boos. Whilst they genuinely do love all of them (you can see our review of DreamBeams here) – they have a marked preference for Squishmallows. With really unique designs and a level of softness that is just a bit more squishy and cosy than the rest, they have become somewhat obsessed in recent months, so much so that we have amased quite a Squishmallow collection!

Reasons to buy Squishmallows

If you still need convincing – here are some reasons to buy Squishmallows:

  • Popular and on-trend loved by kids of all ages
  • Soft, cosy and comfortable
  • Makes a great plush companion for bedtime, travel, gaming, reading and more
  • Range of sizes form small Squishmallows through to Jumbo Squishmallows
  • Squishmallows are available in a wide range of themes including iconic Disney Squishmallows and seasonal characters.

Reasons to avoid Squishmallows

  • There’s no escaping the fact that Squishmallows aren’t cheap, and so you may find yourself wondering whether they’re really worth the money. As with many children’s popular toys however, what is popular with them isn’t always obvious to us grown ups! That said, I’ve been known to cuddle or lie on my daughter’s Stitch Squishmallow on many occasion, so it’s fair to say I’m a convert!

The Best Squishmallows 2023

With the above in mind, here’s our round up of the best and most popular Squishmallows you can get your hands on in 2023. Bear in mind Squishmallows are incredibly in demand at the moment and so at the time of writing stock levels may vary. The retailers are however restocking regularly, so if they are sold out, you may want to keep checking incase they come back in stock. You may also need to consider the click and collect options which tend to have more availability in store.

These squishy beanies come in a wide range of themes (including those of the original Beanie Boos) as well as animals and fun character designs. They also come in a variety of different shapes and sizes, with enormous glittery eyes and smiling faces. Each Squish-a-Boo has colourful, soft fabric and includes the official Ty Heart with name, birthday and poem. The collectible soft toys are suitable from birth.

What’s the difference between Ty Squish a Boos and Squishmallows?

Ty Squish-a-Boos are not to be confused with Squishmallows as they are two different brands both with their own unique identities. That said, they do share some similarities. Both are soft plushes that are comforting and squishy to cuddle, both come with a range of adorable characters and both are incredibly collectable. Ty Squish-a-Boos are also much cheaper than Squishmallows. There are also a number of different squishmallow sizes which vary in price. The average 25cm Squishmalllow will set you back around £10-12 (depending on the design), whereas a 25cm Ty Squish-a-Boos retails at around £7.

How many Squish a Boos are there?

There were originally nine Ty Squish-a-Boos in each size, but since their release in 2021, there are lots more Squish-a-Boo’s being added to the collection

Where can I buy Squish a Boos?

Squish-a-Boo’s are available at lots of different online retailers as well as in store. The best places to pick up Ty Squish a Boo’s is the Entertainer, Amazon and Smyths Toys

What age are Squish a Boos suitable for?

Squish a Boos are suitable from birth, but popular with children 3 – 10 years old.

Are they worth the money?

In our opinion, as a regular toy tester, parent of two and family blogger with years of reviewing a wide range of plush toys, Squish a Boos are excellent value for money and a cheaper alternative to Squishmallows for those with a smaller budget.

Reasons to buy:

  • Cute and friendly characters including some of the original Beanie Boos designs
  • Friendly smiles and large sparkly eyes
  • Super soft fabrics and cuddly plush friends
  • Range of sizes to choose from
  • Cheaper alternative to Squishmallows

Reasons to avoid:

  • They’re not Squishmallows – this sounds harsh but there is something a bit iconic about Squishmallows that means generally kids prefer them. The designs aren’t always as cute as the Squishmallow characters.
  • In our experience, Squish-a-Boos can become misshapen a bit quicker than Squishmallows especially if laid on or used like a pillow.

Must have Roblox Gifts (that aren’t Robux)

Must have Roblox Gifts (that aren’t Robux)

Do your kids have Roblox gifts on your kids wishlist this Christmas or are they hoping to find some Roblox gifts to unwrap on their birthday?

My two daughters are 9 and 6 and both are fairly obsessed with the online game Roblox. Whilst the game does require some awareness from parents (with chat settings available that can be changed in the settings), Roblox is a great way for kids to engage with their friends in a virtual world.

In recent months however, the game has spanned into the non virtual world too, with a wide range of Roblox gifts, Roblox toys and Roblox games and accessories to collect. If you have a Roblox fan to buy for, here’s our round up of some of the best Roblox gifts you can buy today.

What is Roblox?

If you’re reading this post, then chances are you already know what Roblox is. but incase you don’t – here’s what you need to know.

If you have a junior school aged child, chances are they’ll have played, or at least heard of Roblox. With over 50 million players every single day, Roblox is a virtual gaming platform with a range of ‘servers’ or games where children can socialise, play with their friends, and explore 3D worlds generated by users. From Adopt Me to Blocksberg, there are lots of playgrounds to explore. Roblox can be played online or via the Roblox apps, and players are encouraged to register with an email address or mobile phone.

Children will LOVE creating their very own peronalised avatars, regularly changing their outfits and hair styles to reflect their personality.

Is it free to play?

Yes, Roblox is free to play, and it is VERY possible for your child to play Roblox without spending any money at all. The more the play, the more features and exclusive items they can collect. As you might expect however, there are in game purchase options, and in Roblox, this is done via the Roblox virtual currency called Robux, which can be used to buy accessories, outfits, or pets in Roblox,

In our family, we use Robux as their version of pocket money, but spend only small amounts (e.g. £5 a month) on purchasing Robux.

What are the Best Roblox Gifts?

We’ve done the work to save you the job to bring you a definitive list of the best Roblox gifts you can buy today.
