How many photos do you have in non-digital form?? I bet the answer is Not Enough.

My partner would describe me as a “relentless memory maker“. Never an occasion goes by without me whisking out my phone or camera and ‘capturing the moment’. I love looking back at photographs and reliving the memories of the day, or reminiscing at how much our children have grown. As a result, I very rarely go anywhere without my phone or camera in tow, and take photographs most days, even of the ‘ordinary moments’ which may seem insignificant at the time but that you later wish you could relive.

Despite growing up in the era of digital photography, looking at photos on an iPhone or laptop screen just doesn’t do it for me.  I love to get my photos in a physical form, whether that be prints, enlargements, personalised cards or photo gifts – I like to have my photos on display for the world to see.

As a child, my own Mother was religious about having photographs printed, to the point that she has dated albums for every single year of my childhood. I can literally pick a year, locate the album, and find photos of every embarrassing stage of my being 🙂 For a child of the 80’s, that is quite a rarity (as most of these photos were taken with Fujifilm cartridges!). I am so grateful that she took the time to do this, and plan to do something very similar for my own daughters.

I have over 8000 photos on my iPhone at the moment, and I have only had this phone since November – It is so easy to leave them in digital form, but where is the enjoyment in that?

I recently used My-Picture.co.uk to get one of my favourite photos from recent months printed as a canvas. The image was of Erin at preschool, and it summed up her personality perfectly. Tongue sticking out mid giggle in a moment where she wasn’t focusing on the camera, with a cheeky glint in her eye. THIS is the Erin that I know and love and a picture which is begging to be on display! 🙂

Canvas prints can be expensive, but at My-Picture.co.uk, the prices are very reasonable, with canvases available  in a variety of different sizes and prices starting at just £6!

The ordering process was very straight forward, simply uploading my chosen image and mocking up a template online before choosing the canvas size and adding it to my basket.

Here is my finished canvas, which arrived very quickly and was well packaged to protect my design.

Quite simply… I love it! 🙂

The canvas is high quality and the finish is beautiful, with the texture of the canvas really bringing the photo to life. I love the way the image wraps around the sides, creating an almost 3D effect.

At Erin’s Birthday this weekend, we used this image and my decoupage letters to make a real statement when welcoming people to her party, and that coupled with our photo timeline from birth to four years really showcased just how much she has changed since she was born!!
