This post is in collaboration with Very

December is fast approaching and whilst it is clear that this Christmas is going to be quite different from what we have been used to in Christmas’ gone by; we are all really really looking forward to a more calm and relaxed Christmas Day under one roof. We will be making as many happy memories as possible this year and I am really looking forward to the girls faces on Christmas morning. The girls have been so resilient this year, coping with everything that 2020 has thrown at them so far, and I honestly couldn’t be more proud of them.

I have started my Christmas shopping extra early this year, and thanks to Very, we have managed to get all our children’s toys, games and presents online all under one roof without any of the additional stress that comes with shopping in 2020.

In previous years we have generally seen one obvious front runner in the list of Top toys to buy for Christmas – the one that sells out absolutely everywhere by September and results in parents scrabbling around signing up for stock alerts and rushing for store opening in order to get their hands on one, but this year, there appears to be LOTS of items that are the must have Christmas toys for 2020.

Here’s our low down on some of the toys your kids will desperately want to get their hands on in 2020, and all these top brands have super fast delivery at Very, meaning you can get your hands on them pretty quickly too! You can check out the entire range of toys at Very here.

Barbie

There are loads of new must have Barbie toys in 2020, including the Dreamplane Playset and the Adventure Prance and Shimmer horse. We have two HUGE Barbie fans in this house and as I also grew up with Barbie & Sindy as a child myself, I love nothing more than watching the girls play with their Barbie dolls and accessories.

My favourite sets at the moment include the Skipper Babysitter Feeding Time playset which comes with Barbie’s younger sister Skipper with the gorgeous purple streak in her hair. Skipper has taken over babysitting responsibility and is feeding a baby in a high chair. With lots of food and accessories too, this set is great for creative and nurturing role play.

We also love the Barbie Princess Adventure set – another MUST HAVE item at Very this Christmas. With a really glamorous outfit including tiara, handbag, glasses, necklace and removable shoes, the girls will love dressing up Barbie in her jacket and skirt ready for a night on the town. She even takes her adorable pup along too!

Lego

Another classic toy which has some FAB new ranges out for 2020 is LEGO. We are HUGE fans of LEGO in this house, and again as something I grew up with as a child; I absolutely love reliving my youth helping the girls build their creations and bring them to life.

We are big Potterheads too, and the Harry Potter range is pretty epic. Just LOOK at the Hogwarts Clock Tower set below – the attention to detail is amazing, and with lots of detailed elements and mini figures included, this is a definite MUST have for fans of Harry Potter. Other items in the Harry Potter LEGO range include Hagrid’s Hut and the Rise of Voldemort.

The LEGO Star Wars range is another must have range for 2020, with sets including General Grevious’s starfighter, the Sith Troopers Battle pack and Poe Dameron’s X-wing fighter.

For the wannabe bloggers

I couldn’t not highlight this one as a blogger myself. The girls have grown up being fairly familiar with the world of YouTube, and as soon as they saw the advert on TV for the VTech KidiZoom studio they were pretty keen! Offering the ability to create fun vlogs with animations and effects, I have a feeling the girls will be creating quite a few unboxing videos over the festive period!

VTech have some great items for 2020, with another must have being the VTech KidiCom Advance – a phone like device that works through wifi and comes with built-in games, Snapchat-inspired filters and effects.

For the Gamers

Like many families this year, we’ve obviously spent quite a lot of time at home and one way we’ve played together as a family is via gaming, battling it out solving challenges together, trying to beat each other or buddying up to save the day.

There have been lots of fun new game releases this year including Race with Ryan, Ben 10 Power Trip and Harry Potter LEGO as seen below. On the switch you can ever play together on Mario Kart using the wheel accessories, all of which are available at Very.

For the parent’s sanity

Finally, who knows what the rest of winter will bring in terms of home schooling and entertaining the kids at home? For those of you that are attempting to work from home with children in toe, these could definitely be a Christmas must have item for 2020! The JBuddies Studio headphones are super cushioned for comfort and have a sliding metal adjuster so that they can be shared by siblings young and old (whilst being smart enough to nick for the odd zoom call!)

This week is Black Friday week, and Very have some amazing deals and discounts on their toy ranges for you to enjoy. Make the most of the discounts and super fast delivery by checking out the toy range here.
