AD – REVIEW

Erin is a huge fan of interactive toys, and as a parent, I am always amazed at just how clever they are and the huge range of features and responses they can do. Erin recently saw an advertisement on TV for Teenie Tiny Toes – a handheld interactive baby doll, and has been asking for one ever since. For Erin, the combination of an interactive toy with a baby doll was right up her street – she has been really into playing Mum and looking after her babies recently, and the interactive features from the Teenie Tiny Toes dolls would allow her to really bring her role plays to life.

What are Teenie Tiny Toes – The Interactive Baby Doll

Teenie Tiny Toes are small handheld interactive baby dolls recommended for children aged 4+, and are small enough to fit into the palm of your hand. Each doll measures just 11cm from head to toe, making them perfectly sized for small hands.

Each doll has 7 sensors allowing it to react to touch, motion and light. Interact with the to bring them to life, but tickle them in the wrong place and you will get a funny response!

There are three different doll designs available – each with a unique theme, voice and play. Children can choose from Ticklish Tess, Gigglin’ Gabby and Laughin’ Luna. As both girls in this house are Unicorn mad, Laughin’ Luna was always destined to be a big hit!!

Teenie Tiny Toes interactive dolls have an RRP of £14.99.

Our Experience of Teenie Tiny Toes Interactive Dolls

We were sent two dolls from the Teenie Tiny Toes range, including Laughin’ Luna (on the left with the unicorn hat) and Gigglin Gabby (on the right with a panda design).

Our first impressions of the Teenie Tiny Toes dolls were very positive, and Erin was very excited to get them out of the pack. Both designs are very very cute; with adorable little outfits, huge sparkly eyes and brightly coloured hair.

The Teenie Tiny Toes dolls do require batteries but these are included, and the doll can be switched on and off and into test mode using the small switch to the dolls rear.

To start playing with the doll, you simply tickle her tummy or foot and she springs to life!

There are lots of interactive elements to the Teenie Tiny Toes dolls – here are just a few things she can say / do:

  • Tickle the dolls tummy or foot to hear her laugh and giggle but tickle too much and she will let out a little fart! Erin found this hilarious!
  • Pat her back after pretending to feed her and hear her burp
  • The dolls will say key phrases such as “Again Again”, “Let’s play a tickle game!” “Tickle my tummy!” “I love Pandas!” and “Mama!”
  • When its time for bed Erin was able to rock her gently in her arms and listen as she sings “rockabye baby” and starts snoring. The doll then closes eyes (at least partially!) as if she is slowly nodding off to sleep. When she is tired she says phrases such as “Panda go night night” and “I’m sleepy!”
  • The dolls can also play peekaboo by covering the sensor in her hat and placing your hand over her eyes. (We had a bit of trouble getting this one to work every time but Erin didn’t seem to mind!)

Each Teenie Tiny Toes baby doll has poseable arms and legs so Erin could choose whether to lie them down or pop them up into a sleeping position. The dolls movements are also very responsive to play – when she speaks, her eyes open and close, her head moves and she raises her arms up and down.

Erin has had great fun playing with the Teenie Tiny Toes interactive dolls and they held her attention for a long time. The sounds are relatively quiet and not intrusive, which is a real positive from a parents point of view. They are also small enough to be popped into a bag to keep the children entertained when you are out and about.

Overall I think the Teenie Tiny Toes dolls are excellent value for money, and packed full of interactive features. I love that there are three different designs to collect, meaning that friends or siblings could play together or try and collect them all.
