Yoto Player was previously gifted for review but I am paying for the Yoto Club myself. This post contains affiliate links

Do your kids love their Yoto player? Are you looking to expand your child’s Yoto card collection? Yoto, the home of screen free audio fun, have literally hundreds of Yoto cards to collect. Yoto Club membership is a fun and cost-effective way to select two cards each month to add to your child’s Yoto library. Here’s everything you need to know about the Yoto Club.

Best Yoto Cards

With two young children aged 9 and 6, it’s fair to say our household has quickly fallen in love with Yoto.

With both children having their own Yoto Player in their bedrooms and sharing a Yoto Mini player for travel, we’ve quickly amassed quite the collection of Yoto Cards – everything from bedtime stories to music, activities, mindfulness meditations and even baking cards – our Yoto library has introduced the girls to a wide range of fun screen-free entertainment.

We love adding new Yoto cards to our library. One of the big benefits of buying new cards on a registered account is that the cards appear on your Yoto app pretty much instantly, meaning you can enjoy listening to the new content via your app whilst waiting for the physical cards to arrive. You can also control the Yoto players remotely via the app, meaning that I can select new cards from the app and ‘send’ them to each player, putting the parent in control in the absence of a physical card.

We’ve been buying new Yoto Cards regularly now (it can become quite addictive!), so after researching the benefits of the Yoto Club – a subscription service for Yoto fans, I decided to sign up and embrace adding new content regularly to our Yoto library.

If you’re considering joining the Yoto Club yourself, here’s what you need to know.

What is the Yoto Club?

The Yoto Club is a subscription service that allows you to get 2 credits each month – selecting two new cards to add to your library from a selection of cards specifically for club Members. Yoto Club membership also comes with a range of member-only benefits including discounts and free postage.

How much does the Yoto Club Cost?

You can sign up for the club in one of two ways – monthly or annually. Annual works out the cheapest, costing £99 for the year which is charged in one transaction. This works out as just £8.25 a month and when you think that the average priced card is between £7.99 and £9.99 you’re already saving a fortune, getting two cards pretty much for the price of one each month.

If you’re not sure about signing up for the whole year in advance, you can choose to pay monthly instead, at £9.99 a month. Each more this recurring subscription will charge you £9.99 and add two credits automatically to your Yoto account.

What benefits do members get?

As well as the two credits each month, Yoto Club members get additional benefits. This includes free delivery (normally £2.99) and 10% off across the entire Yoto store. This includes all Yoto Cards as well as the Yoto Players and Yoto accessories such as Yoto headphones or Yoto card storage such as the Yoto Card Case.

The discount on the store has the potential to save Club members a huge amount of money, particularly if you’re buying for more than one child. The more cards you buy, the more you’ll have to store, so getting discounts off the various storage options is a big bonus too.

How does the Yoto Club work?

Once you sign up to the Yoto Club, the credits go into your account automatically (exactly a month after you signed up – so if you join on the 2nd March, your credits will be added on the 2nd of each month from that point forwards). You can either choose to spend them straight away (which we have tended to do), or if there is nothing in the club selection at that time that takes your fancy, you can allow the credits to roll over. Some people build up their credits and then go on a bit of a spree before birthdays or Christmas – it’s entirely up to you.

When you are logged in and place an order from Yoto, it will register that you are part of the Yoto Club and deduct the postage automatically from your order, as well as 10% off any other cards or accessories you purchase at the same time.

Has the Yoto Club changed?

We have only personally been Yoto Club members for around 3 months, but there are some recent changes to Yoto Club Membership, some of which have had mixed reviews. The good things that have changed are that there are no more ‘card selection’ days – it used to be that you had to pick your Yoto cards at a certain time – this is no longer the case. You can also now roll over your credits – a definite plus point.

The Yoto Club however is now limited to a selection of cards. Whilst there are over 100 cards to choose from, some Yoto fans have been frustrated that not all cards are included. Those that have had their Yoto for a while have said that they sometimes can’t find a card to suit them.

My personal view? There are lots of cards to choose from, so unless you already have loads of cards already, it shouldn’t be hard to make a selection.

How much choice is there?

There are at least 100 cards to choose from in the Yoto Club and you can easily filter these by age or type to find cards that are most suitable for you. Each month, some cards will leave the club (or ‘retire’) which means they will revert back to being regular cards. New cards are also added to the club. These could be brand-new cards, or simply cards from the rest of the Yoto card collection that were not previously included.

What cards are in the Yoto Club?

All Yoto Club cards have a green tent icon on the Yoto store, so you can quickly see at a glance which cards are included in your Yoto Club subscription. Alternatively, you can go straight to the bottom of the page to the Yoto Club cards section.

How often do the Club cards change?

Each month, Yoto club cards will vary with cards being retired and new cards being added. These aren’t necessarily the ‘New to Yoto’ Cards – which are brand new cards that haven’t been sold before. Some Yoto Fans felt that Yoto Club members should get first dibs on these, but that is currently not the case.

Do I have to use my credits each month?

No – and I really like this feature of the Yoto Club. If you don’t want to spend your credits straight away, you can roll them over – up to 12 months worth, meaning you could in theory have 24 credits to spend in one transaction if you really felt like a Yoto card splurge. Many Yoto Club members do this to spend in bundles around birthdays.

Does the Yoto Club have a minimum duration?

No, you can cancel your Yoto Club membership at any time. If you’ve signed up for an annual Yoto Club membership and change your mind, Yoto will refund you for the months that you havent used (pro rata’d against the cost paid).

How do I cancel my subscription?

You can cancel the club membership at any time.

Will I lose my credits if I cancel?

You don’t lose any credits that you’ve accrued and paid for, – these are valid for up to 12 months, but once you’ve cancelled the club membership your delivery will no longer be free. This means any credits you cash in after your membership has ceased will incur the £2.99 delivery charge. If your credits are older than 12 months they will expire – so better to buy any cards and sell them on than lose the credits altogether!

Why does US Club have different cards?

Different countries have different licensing laws, so it is sometimes the case that you’ll see different cards in the US Yoto store to the ones that are included for UK members. Unfortunately unless the book license has been approved for sale in the UK you won’t be able to buy directly from Yoto.

Yoto Club Review – Our experience:

We’ve been really pleased with Yoto Club so far and I intend to continue my subscription.

We currently pay monthly at £9.99 a month, and so far we have spent the credits almost instantly as soon as they arrive in my account. Whilst we do have lots of Yoto Cards already, there are currently 122 to choose from and they vary in terms of age suitability and type of card.

I love the fact that the Yoto Club encourages you to try cards that you wouldn’t necessarily have chosen before – we’ve found some of Neve’s favourite cards that way – specifically some of the Human Body cards which are educational but so much fun to listen to.

Is Yoto Club worth it?

Yes it is. Yoto obviously can’t please everybody, but Yoto club is an affordable and flexible subscription that allows you to use your credits as and when you wish. There’s no minimum duration, you can cancel at any time and there are a wide range of cards to choose from. The club card selections are also being updated regularly, with the latest additions also being cards that are brand new to Yoto – something which has been very positively received.

If you are new to Yoto and don’t already have loads of cards, the Yoto Club is a fantastic way to expand your selection whilst benefiting from free delivery and 10% discount across the store.

Yoto Club Pros

  • Affordable membership with the choice of paying monthly or annually
  • Ability to roll over/build up credits
  • Wide choice of club cards, clearly marked with the tent logo
  • New club cards added regularly
  • Free delivery
  • 10% off the ENTIRE Yoto store including players and accessories

How would we improve the Yoto Club?

We would love to see new release cards in the Yoto Club for a week first before they go to general sale. This means that cards that are in incredibly high demand don’t sell out before the committed Yoto fans get a chance to order. I would also love to see ones that have come back in stock be offered to club members first – perhaps just with a 24-hour heads up on email that they’re coming back. Other than that, I can’t really fault it. If you have more than one child and want to give them more cards to share, it makes complete sense – and it’s always fun to go shopping on credit day!
