Hump Day Linky 16/8

Welcome back to Hump Day Linky and thanks for joining me on my weekly linky to celebrate Hump Day – the middle of the week, and the downhill journey to the weekend!

This week has been a bit tough, and I’ve been feeling a bit down as a result. We have had a lot of trouble with crime in my home town this week, from car jackings, to burglary to anti social behaviour. We’ve had police helicopters over our house two nights running and it’s horrible. I’ve lived here for the last 5 years without even a sniff of trouble, and for the first time ever I have actually felt scared to live in this neighbourhood, which as a parent is a sad state of affairs.

Neve also started her settling in sessions at nursery this week, and as expected, it’s been a bit tough. Lots of tears and the Mum Guilt of course kicking in, but I know she will get there eventually.

So, on to the linky – how about some nice upbeat posts this week to cheer me up!??

My favourite two posts from last week were from:

Captain Bob Cats – 10 Tips for Overseas Holidays & Flights with Children I haven’t been brave enough to take the girls on a plane yet, but there is some great advice here for those that are! With the summer holidays upon us, this is a very timely post for many of you!

and

Then I Became Mum – Parenting as a Vegan – I really admire the fact that they are educating their daughter about the Vegan lifestyle, whilst at the same time allowing her to make her own decision when she is old enough.

We are running all through the summer holidays, so whilst it may be a bit quieter than usual I hope you continue to come and join us! 🙂

Welcome back to Hump Day Linky and thanks for joining me on my weekly linky to celebrate Hump Day – the middle of the week, and the downhill journey to the weekend!

This week is officially the last week of maternity leave as I know it, with Neve starting her settling in sessions at nursery tomorrow *sob*. Because of her eating issues I have started her a little earlier than I needed to, and am fully expecting a few phone calls for early pick ups! It will certainly be weird having a bit of time to myself when she is there though!!

My favourite two posts from last week were from:

Shank You Very Much and her post “She Shart Herself” – This actually made me LOL – the amount of times that Neve lets out the biggest farts that have me rushing for the changing bag, only for their to be the tiniest little skid mark in her nappy… I’ve lost count!

and

Scandi Mummy with her inspiration for Summer Toddler Snacks – it’s hard to think of fun things for kids when its hot outside… if only the sun would come back again so I could test them out!

Last week was the busiest week in Hump Day Linky to date, and it was so lovely to see some new faces joining us as well as the regulars – obviously I appreciate each and every one of you joining us! We have such a great mix of posts, and I genuinely enjoy reading them all (even if I do generally read them in the early hours of the morning whilst awake with my sleep ninja of a child!)

My favourite two posts from last week were from:

Dear Control Freak Mum from So Happy In Town – this is a hilarious insight into life with children in the school holidays – someone’s being spying on me and my craft box!! 😂

and

How Can I Help teach my child to read from Old House in the Shires – some great tips and advice here for any one who’s looking to help their preschooler.

Welcome back to Hump Day Linky and thanks for joining me on my weekly linky to celebrate Hump Day – the middle of the week, and the downhill journey to the weekend!

This week has passed by in a bit of a blur to be honest, as usual I am VERY sleep deprived. We finally have a referral to try and get to the bottom of Neve’s eating issues, and lots more special creams to try and get her eczema under control! For now I am simply wishing for a good night’s sleep!

My favourite two posts from last week were from:

Old House in the Shires – tips for children starting school – some really useful tips here and some that I know will help those preparing for reception this September!

and

TippyTupps’ Summer Fun Garden Adventures – some such lovely ideas to play outside and enjoy the summer with your little ones (if the rain will do one that is!)

Hump Day Linky – 19/7

Welcome back to Hump Day Linky and thanks for joining me on my weekly linky to celebrate Hump Day – the middle of the week, and the downhill journey to the weekend!

This week has been another busy week of birthdays with our whole weekend taken up with parties!

I have booked Neve’s settling in sessions for nursery and ordered Erin’s school uniform – so suddenly it feels like time has run away with me and that both my girls are growing up fast!

My favourite two posts from last week were from:

So Happy In Town’s Let Our Kids Just Be – this is so true – the amount of times I have spent causing myself undeniable amounts of stress getting to and from classes, activities and days out, when the reality is, the girls would be equally happy playing with a cardboard box in the garden. Sometimes it’s perfectly acceptable to just let them be!

and

ScandiMummy’s Ten Commandments – I loved learning more about what makes Nadia tick – and some of these I could relate to and need to do more of – particularly embracing my inner child!

Welcome back to Hump Day Linky and thanks for joining me on my weekly linky to celebrate Hump Day – the middle of the week, and the downhill journey to the weekend!

This week has been BIRTHDAY Week with parties and celebrations galore. Both my neice and nephew had birthdays and as such, we have spent a lot of time playing in the sunshine and eating cake. Not a bad week you may say!

From a blog perspective, I had my first controversial post this week which caused a bit of a stir and some very awful comments from strangers who felt that I was creating a personal attack against the hospitality sector (I wasn’t). I’ve also had my parenting and manners called into question. I always find it amazing how quickly people can become aggressive behind their keyboards when they see something they don’t agree with. Whatever happened to being entitled to an opinion? I’ve included the link as one of my posts this week so you can form your own view!

My favourite two posts from last week were from:

Ankle Biters Adventures and her post about her child’s milk allergy – it’s amazing how much Mums need to push and trust their gut at times when it comes to getting medical professionals to listen!

and

Mummy to Twindividuals with her list of 100 foods to try bedore you’re 3. I’d love to say Erin eats most of these, but as most of you will know, that would be a blatent lie!!
