Safety Notice – Tommee Tippee Steam Blender

Tommee Tippee Steam Blender – replacement blades – Safety Notice

The following notice has been issued by Tommee Tippee:

Tommee Tippee

We previously communicated about some customers experiencing problems with the blade scratching the jug of their Tommee Tippee Steamer Blender. At the time of that message, our initial testing had only been able to replicate the issue when reassembling the blender after cleaning, with the sealing ring upside down, or by washing the blade unit in the dishwasher. Since then, we’ve been carrying out more in-depth testing, and having further discussions with customers that have experienced this problem.

During this testing, we have been able to replicate the problem in certain other circumstances. We’ve therefore made some changes to the blade unit to resolve this.

We want to ensure our customers have the best possible experience with their Steamer Blender, so we’re making the revised blade available to all those who’ve already purchased the product. To keep it as simple as possible for you, we’ve set up this page for you to order your replacement. (http://tinyurl.com/zjc7vso)

In the meantime, we continue to advise you to carefully check the jug for signs of scratching after each use, to ensure that if any scratching does occur there is no risk of plastic getting into a child’s mouth.

We’d like to apologise to all of our customers who’ve been affected by this. As you know, child safety is at the heart of everything we do. We were very concerned by the problems, so we spoke to the customers involved, completed the investigation, and recognised where modifications could be made.

RECALL – Ben & Jerry’s Ice Cream

Ben & Jerry’s Recall

Ice cream maker Ben & Jerry’s has recalled tubs of one of its best-selling products over concern they may contain small pieces of metal.

Some consumers who bought 500ml cartons of Cookie Dough are being told not to eat it and instead throw it away.

The company has issued an alert over four batches of the ice cream which it says could be affected.

Tubs affected have codes L62110L011, L62111L011, L62112L011 and L62113L011 printed on the bottom of the pots.

The company issued an “important safety notice” after internal quality assurance checks showed that a limited number of products could be affected.

Ben & Jerry’s said: “The company has identified a specific production period during which Ben & Jerry’s Cookie Dough 500ml may have been affected and, as safety remains a top priority, Ben & Jerry’s is voluntarily recalling four batch codes of Cookie Dough 500ml from sale.

“As a precaution, everyone with a 500ml tub of Ben & Jerry’s Cookie Dough in their freezers at home should check the batch number on the bottom of their tub to make sure it’s not affected.

“And, if it matches the batch numbers listed above, they should not eat the product and, instead, we ask them to discard the product in the usual household bin.”

It is unclear how many pots of ice cream could be affected.

The company said that consumers who have to throw away a tub of the ice cream can call 0800 146 252 to find out how to receive a voucher for a free pot.
